Additional Info

•  Buyer's Guide
Boker's ceramic blades are constructed of zircon-oxide, which is hard as diamonds (so hard it registers beyond the Rockwell scale), resists wear, stays sharp longer than steel and won't rust, stain or discolor. During independent testing of this ceramic for edge-holding ability, the test had to be extended more than three-fold, cutting through 1,300 blocks of testing carton rather than the 400 normally used to test steel blades.

Made exclusively for Cabela's®, this knife features a fiberglass-reinforced Zytel® handle that has been specially rounded to ride comfortably in your pocket. Plus it's ribbed and textured for a sure grip. One-hand opening is virtually effortless, thanks to a unique thumb stud and a silky smooth pivoting action. All hardware, including the split liner that locks the blade open, is made of stainless steel. It also has a convenient lanyard hole. Most noticeably, it is pleasantly, comfortably lightweight.
Blade length: 2-1/8".
Closed length: 3".
Overall length: 4-1/2".
Weight: 1-1/2 oz.

Great blade, handle just too short, November 4, 2009
By NCYellowfin from Eastern NC

"I have always wanted a ceramic blade, and I am a big believer in a short blade for skinning and butchering deer and bear. For years I have used the short Gerbers with great sucess, but always wanted a Boker. The blade is awesome. Perfect in size and function. The handle is just to short to fit comfortably in my hand. I plan to contact Cabelas and see if the knife can be returned for the next size up, even though the next size up has a longer blade than I am looking for. Half an inch on the handle would make this decent knife a great knife. I fairness, the blade is a 5 star, just the fit in the hand is the issue. Just not as comfortable as I had hoped while using."

"This is a handy little knife, that lives up to it's catalog description.
The price while not cheap, is a fair price for this knife.

"Well-made, freaky-sharp and stays that way, high cool factor...very good small pocket knife. Maybe not the best value, but sometimes it's nice to indulge a little."

"This knife is the right size for a pocket knife. The blade was to loose for me so I tightened up the allen screw at the base of the blade ,much better.Seems to be a well built knife. Mike"

Boker Gamma Ceramic Blade Knife, October 8, 2007
By les1cam from South Central Missouri

"I had no idea that a knife could be this sharp. I bought this little knife to carry for everyday. For a few days I was actually scared to open it to show my friends. I bought this knife because I can't seem to be able to put an edge on a stainless steel blade. Now I don't have to worry about it. If this knife ever does get dull, I'll just send it back to Boker to sharpen it for me."

Boker Gamma, March 15, 2007
By SavedbyGrace from Colorado

"Really nice knife. and the best quality is the weight while skinning. The ceramic blade will get dull, but mine cleaned and skinned an elk, antelope, and a deer before I sent it in to be re-sharpened. Do that with a steel knife, without re-sharpening ! Because it is ceramic you can't just hit it with a steel to put an edge back on it, and you can't sharpen it yourself. It has to be sent back to Boker. It's cheap and pretty fast to do. My guess is that the blade wont flex like steel and would get broken if used to pry or hack down a tree."

Boker Gamma, December 30, 2006
By BruceVA from Richmond, VA

"This knife is absolutely the sharpest knife I have ever owned, and I've owned many "high end" knives. The blade holds it's edge no matter what I use it for. I don't know what "ceramic" is, but it acts like a razor blade that never gets dull. I will never spend money on a pocket knife that doesn't have a ceramic blade again! Also very light weight...I love it."
