"If this item would stay on it would be a great help. I have had several of these products in the past and they worked great. This one will not stay on.
Also the code was for a twin pack but only one warmer came in the box"

jon e warmers,
December 26, 2008
By cweade

|
"I had a bigger size when I was stationed in Germany back in the early 70's. these are a bit smaller and that being the case they don't last as long, maybe a couple of hours. They do work well enough to keep me warm on cold mornings while fishing. The only reason I needed to get new ones is, I think someone borrowed my older one, and haven't returned it yet. So they do last a while."

Not quite what I expected...,
December 23, 2008
By joheb

"I purchased the Jon-E Twin Pack along with 2 of the Jumbo hand warmers. I followed the instructions included with the hand warmers to the letter and received very poor results. Perhaps I received the "lemon" hand warmer, but with a full reservoir of fuel and the ignition sequence followed, I was only able to get about 30-45 minutes of heat. They are very very hot at first, but after the half hour mark, it was began rapidly getting cool to the touch. Not pleasant when deer hunting in Wisconsin in November."

Hot Item,
October 28, 2008
By Pico
|
"These catalytic hand-warmers have been around for at least fifty years. They put out LOTS of heat if fully exposed to air but heat output can be choked down to a trickle if the drawstring on the flannel bag is pulled closed or if they are packed into a restrictive space like a tight jacket pocket. They DO put out a distinctive odor of burning lighter fluid when in operation and in this respect the various sorts of disposable chemical hand-warmer packets may be superior. Fueling can be messy if you don't have a steady hand but the lighter fluid fuel is quite volatile and disappears quickly if spilled."

Warm hands is a good thing,
February 26, 2008
By Badgerholehopper

"I bought these hand warmers to use while ice fishing and overall I've been pretty happy with them. I found the best thing to do is fuel them up and start them at home before you head out otherwise it can be a little tougher on the lake. They stay very warm for a suprisingly long time as long you don't starve them from air. I would recommend them to any outdoors person."

A Nifty Solution to Cold Hands,
February 20, 2008
By JacksonM
|
"This two pack was purchased with the idea of helping to keep warm during cold weather activities including motorcycling. The information provided about this heater is accurate. They light easily, reach about 150 F and I have left them "on" for 8 hours at a time. Tucking one inside my leather jacket on a cold day makes a world of difference. Unfortunately I have had problems with them going out if oriented horizontally or if air flow is impeded. The procedure for lighting the units takes several minutes which makes relighting them in many situations impractical. However, when using them as handwarmers in my pockets and keeping them oriented vertically they have never gone out."

not to happy,

"The unit has yet to be a viable hand warmer...I have worked with it several times but only get about 1 hour of warmth. as soon as the flannel bag is installed it starts to quit. I am not happy with the product. I even searched the net for troubleshooting and tried all of the suggestions with no joy."

Great product,
February 11, 2008
By Anonymous

"Initially I had some trouble getting the hand warmers lit. If you fill them up properly, then let the wick burn for a few minutes before blowing it out, a much higher success rate for lighting the catalyst burner should present itself. I recommend lighting them then leaving them out of the bag until they are hot to the touch. This seems to produce the best guarantee that they wont extinguish when put in the bags. Experiment with them before becoming too frustrated. They will produce awesome heat for 8-12 hours once lit successfully."

Disappointed,

By TDHTexas

"This product works fine if you have a considerable amount of time to prepare. You have to light it and then let it stand for 10 or 15 minutes before touching it, even then it does not always last the whole hunt. Needs improvement."

Why be cold,
October 19, 2007
By warmas
from New Zealand.
|
"Thirty years ago I was in Antarctica and purchased a Jon E Hand Warmer. It has been used regularly ever since, particularly, Duck Hunting and Boating. As I get older, despite huge improvements in cold weather gear my Jon E, when moved from pocket to pocket is also a must on the Golf Course. With no moving parts and a bit of Fuel , being in the cold doing what you love, in relative comfort is always possible with this great piece of equipment. I am purchasing a few to give to my shooting and golf mates, something I should have done years ago. Of course, E.mail ordering is the only way I can get them, because they are not available in stores in New Zealand. Thanks Cabelas. MILES."
