"I have used this bag only once and it seemed to be warm and comfortable. the main problem with this bag is that the zipper constantly gets stuck on the bag liner and is a real hassle to open and close. To me this is a real problem when either trying to zip up to get warm or to unzip for a bathroom break. Neither situation is much fun."

Excellent Value,

"The first time I used this bag was in the "high country" of the Shoshone National Forest in Wyoming. It got down to -20 degrees three nights in a row and with only a inflatable sleeping pad underneath me I was MORE than warm enough. I am 6' tall, 200 lbs., have pretty wide shoulders and this bag fit me just fine. The zipper placement prevents high winds from pushing into the bag. One of the downsides is that is kind've "bulky" for a backpacking bag, but I think with a better compression bag it would fit my pack much better. A FANTASTIC value for the price."

"I have used this bag many times and love it. I woke up in Jackson Hole in late October with ice on the outside of my bag, and I was warm and snug inside the bag with only the -15 model. My friend was in a -20 North Face bag with a much better sleeping pad and he was cold. I may sleep warmer, but the point is there is no need to spend big money when this bag works as good or better. The only downsides are it is heavier than a high dollar bag, and the regular size bag fits tightly around my shoulders (I am 6' and 210 lbs)."

Plenty Warm,

"Just hiked into the Colorado backcountry 10 miles with this bag and camped out at 12,353 feet. I was plenty warm if not to warm for the night. Would probably get the +15 degree bag and not the -15 simply due to the weight. Take a tip travel light for backcounty, 45 lb pack for 20 miles is a great workout. So shed weight where you can. "This is one of the best bags you can buy. Hunting camp @ -10*F and it's nice and comfy. Plenty of room for a large frame person. The only down side might be the zipper flap gets caught in the zipper once in a while. Overall this is the best sleeping bag I have used in the 42 years I have hunted. Would like to see this in a light weight summer bag."

Cabela's 3-D mummy bag -15º,
February 24, 2009
By Roadkingbill

|
"My 11 year old son and I recently used these mummy bags to sleep outdoors in the snow in our snow shelters. We were both warm and toasty. The outdoor temperature was about 15º above zero so we didn't test the extremes. The only issue I had was trying to get the bag back into the stuff sack. The stuff sack is just too darn small for this bag. You can do it, but it takes a lot of muscle. I would reccomend this bag, but plan to purchase a bigger stuff sack."

Very Warm,

By outdoors85

"Took this bag elk hunting in MT and it kept me very warm but it was only 10-20 degrees at night. So I never really tested its full potential. But for under $100 you cant go wrong. If you are backpacking its a little bulky and heavy but it can be done. Since your bag is one of the most important things you will be taking its worth the extra weight if you cant afford a $300 bag. Save weight somewhere else."

"Purchased the bag with -30 rating, first night it was 4 degrees, with long winters on the bag was diffentley cool, next night it was 15 degrees bag preformed well, certainly not a bag for 0 degrees or less. Zipper was a nightmare always catching and a real pain to get all the way up when you are in the bag.
Plus factors is it is large I am 6'5" and 245 had more than enough room, and is nice and warm around 20 degrees"

"I used this bag in the colder arctic nights this fall with temps getting as cool as 8 degrees this bag worked great and kept me warm at night but any temps above about 15 and I had to unzip it some during the night because it worked a little too well... it is a little tight in the leg area but the body area was roomy and comfortable.. great bag and a great price"

Finally Sleeping Warm,
September 20, 2008
By rockymtnlady

|
"I like to winter camp so the -30 bag was a must for me. I naturally sleep very cold, and after a night in the snow at high altitude I was very glad I purchased this bag. I even use this during the summer months and just don't zip myself all the way in, and I stay comfortable. The reason I gave this bag 4 stars instead of 5 is because its a major battle to get it back into the compression stuff sack. It's an early morning smack down that I don't look forward to, but I can overlook it since I am finally sleeping warm."

"Just returned from Pepper Peak 5000ft (2-nights), temp 10 to 20, wind gust up to 60mph, 8" snow. Things were alittle wet, I don't have a Dall Sheep yet but this bag kept me warm for both nights even slightly wet. I give it 5 stars because, even wet it kept me warm at night. Yes at 5lbs 4oz it's heavy, something you might want to concider. But the only way to get lighter is to go up in temp. rating, and much more expensive fill material (tack on another $150), and you might shave a pound. Down insulation is not even considered."
