"I've rated it 5 stars even is I bought it just recently.
Truth is, I have been happy from the day I opened the box.
I use it in my 4x4 along with a net, to keep guns and boxes where they are suppossed to go, not in the ground every time I open the rear door.
Well made, strong, nice look. Only thing I did not like was the glued sticker with instructions. But everyone who saw the ratchet loved it."

"THE KEEPER RATCHETING CARGO BAR WORKS GREAT AND I USE IT ALL THE TIME. MY 2008 SILVERADO CAME STOCK WITH A PLASTIC TRUCK BED LINER AND THE CARBO BAR HELPS KEEP ITEMS FROM SLIDING AROUND IN THE BED. THE SWIVEL PADS ON EACH END MAKE IT EASY TO CONFIGURE CARGO AND STILL MATCH UP WITH A GOOD SPOT ON THE BED LINER TO LOCK DOWN THE CARGO BAR."

Does what it's supposed to do.,

"I can't say that these are any better or worse than other brands since these are the only ones I've ever used. I've had a pair of them for close to ten years and they stay where they're put, no slippage, no coming loose. Read the instructions carefully, especially regarding releasing the tension. Some truck bed walls might be deformed permanently if the metal is too thin because these can exert quite a force against the sides of the bed. I don't know how much weight they can keep in place but I've had boxes weighing over 100 pounds that haven't moved when secured by these cargo bars. They are certainly worth the reasonable price that Cabela's charges."

Good Ratcheting Cargo Bar,

"I have only used the Keeper Ratcheting Cargo Bar once since I received it from Cabela's, but it did it's job well.
I had recently bought a pickup truck with a slick plastic bed liner and I bought the bar to keep cargo from sliding around in the truck bed. I recently used it to contain two full plastic gas cans from moving around in the truck bed. It held them firmley in place. It locked up and stayed in place very well with the only thing being when I unlatched it made a very loud pop when the pressure was relieved. So now I know what it sounds like when you unlatch it. I like the small size of the bar and the ease of expanding it to fit to both sides of the truck bed. I think it would be good to use in my SUV also. Good product and well built for a small price."

"I have tried other types of cargo bars over the past 15 years and have found that this one is the best that is available. It is easy to instal, remove and has never given me any trouble. My current bar has been in use for approximately five years and has never failed me or shown any signs of wearing out. I would highly recommend this product for anyone who needs to keep items from sliding around in the box of their truck or back of their SUV."

"The feet on this are rubber coated and swivel enough to lay flat against the bed even if the bar's at an angle.
It's a cheap sturdy fix for a common problem and collapses enough to fit easily behind the seat when not in use."

Ratcheting Cargo Bar -- the right tool,

"Good tool to keep gas cans, grocery sacks, etc, upright in the back of my SUV. My old pickup had slots in the bed liner to hold sawed-to-fit 2x4's. Not an option in the Lincoln Nav! This device looks nice, with it's metal finish and safe-soft ends, and it works well.
The ratchet mechanism might throw you at first, like how to unlock it, and the directions that come with it are kind of simple, but once you play with it for a few minutes, you get the hang of it, and it does the job!
No more tipped over grocery bags or gas cans, this baby is staying in my truck all the time."

"works well....padded so as not to damage your truck bed...I use this device in the bed of my ford f150 to keep lawn chairs and a cooler from sliding around the bed...once you find the correct position just lock it down..same principle as a ratchet strap...pull up to release
I will remove it once winter months come as I suspect it may not hold up well in snow and ice and salt although it can easily be lubricated with WD40 etc.
Can also be used indoors as a barrier along a staircase to prevent your dog from going up the staircase. My dog who is a black lab could clear it but I have it positioned at a height where he finds it too risky to "challenge"
Downside is it can easily be removed from truck bed so theft coudl be a problem,,,,,possibly there is a way to affix a small padlock to the mechanism but I have not tried this as of yet.
A good buy"

Set it and Forget it.....,

"I got the cargo bar with some Club points while browsing in the magazine and was reminded I needed one. I'm glad that I did as now my "stuff" stays put in the back of my truck and I'm frequently over rough terrain. It has been in service for about 3 months and has not slipped although I did not tighten it as much as I could have. I'd go this way again if I needed another."

"before i use cargo bar, it was very unhealthy for my dog, now her kennel is fixed with cargo bar and she looks more comfortable in her kennel because its not moving.alsoboxes in the bud are stabl its good and i do nt hear the rolling boxes on the way perfect."
