Three-Quarter Vest Pros/Cons,

"The three-quarter vest I purchased from Cabela's has turned out to be a decent piece of gear. The main reason I purchased the vest was the shorter length. It is much better than a full-length vest for use with a hunting pack with a hip belt. Now I do not have to wad the extra vest material under my hip belt. Plus it makes access to the side pockets on my jacket easier as well and improves ventilation when I open the "pit-zips" on my jacket. I also am a big fan of the breakup pattern on the vest. I believe this helps break-up my outline. When I look at hunting photos in grayscale (like deer/elk etc see) the vest looks just like another piece of camo clothing.
The one downside to the vest is the darned plastic buckle. As other reviewers have also noticed, the thing is NOISY. It rattles. It smacks on my binos and makes noise, and just rattles against itself when you hike. it probably bothers me more than the game, and hasn't yet stopped me from being successful, just annoying. I plan to do some surgery and sew a new buckle on instead. Once I do that I think this will be a permanent piece of equipment in my gearbox."

"The vest works well by giving the required inches , and staying out of the way. The 3/4 vest did not get in the way of acess to my pack which has front pockets on the waist belt.light weight and durable in the Bob of Mt. wilderness hunt. the strap to the clip needs to be tied off or the clip can slip off and get lost. I bought 4 of them for the hunting party and no major complants."

"I have used this vest for 5+ years and have been very pleased with it. The color faded slightly, but I just bought 4 more for the rest of the family. It is soft and quiet and blends in well versus solid orange. (It still meets the PA. orange law requirements) The three quarter vest stays out of the way versus a full vest."

"Even though I don't like to hunt with a bow in hunter orange, but I have to due to the rule changes where I hunt, the break up pattern does help a lot. My last hunt I had does within 20 yards of me, and as long as I stayed still, they did not know what I was. That was a very, very good feeling. I read the other reviews about the buckle being loud, but some black electrical tape took care of that. What ever it takes to be quiet. I hunt from the ground, no tree stands. If you are required to wear orange where you hunt, give this vest a try. I think you will be pleased."

"the only down side is the plastic snap buckle in front makes a noise it rattles and when something rubbed against it (like your gun or binocs ) it was too loud so I removed the buckle andleft the loop and run the strap side thru the loop and tied this made the product for me GREAT."
