Estwing Sportsman Ax,

"I purchased the Estwing Sportsman Ax to replace an ax that I used for 25 years to split wood into kindling wood. The Estwing was the only steel head and shaft ax that I could locate. My main use for using this ax is to make kindling wood for fire in my wood stove for my home. This requires using a standard hammer on the head to drive the ax thru the kindling wood to the desired 1 inch square approx. The ax needs to have the steel head a lot more harder. I believe that on the rate this ax’s head is starting to “peel”, I will be replacing this ax in two years."

All Around Great Axe,

"I bought this axe as a gift for my husband. He loves to camp and over the years has bought himself quality equipment of everything he needs. The only he lacked was an axe. I like that the head is shaped from the handle, so it can't fall off. The back of the axe is a great mallet for small hammering jobs (tent poles etc) and the leather handle is beautiful.
It's too heavy for a backpacking trip, but most camping gear changes from drive up to backpacking, and he does both. My next gift will be a lighter one specifically for backpacking. This one is perfect for drive up camping."

"This axe is a good quality product, great for camping and chopping up some kindling. It's smaller than I expected, but it's my fault for not thoroughly reading the description.
It could have been a little sharper out of the box, but it did come with a sharpening stone."

"This Ax is a work of art. It is sharp for cutting and has a nice hammer end for driving tent stakes. My dad has one that I remember from 40+ years ago when I first went camping as a kid. I guess it stuck with me. When I saw it I had to buy one. I am glad I did."

"As every single item I buy from Cabelas, it is a gift for my husband who has wanted to buy this ax long time ago.
This tool really looks good quality, plus it has both ax and hammer funtions. The handle and the leather accesories look very pretty.
Unfortunatelly for me, my husband found the ax before his birthday and there hasn't been a day that he doesn't beg me to give it as an early present, telling me all the things that he might do with his ax. So, it does make a great item for a gift."
