"The lock is easy to "rekey". It stood up to a recent 10,000 mile trip across the US towing a light (1200 lb.) trailer. My fear that the mechanism would not release proved unfounded. This is a good, basic anti-theft deterent."

"I realized one day that my whole trailer could easily be stolen right from my truck's hitch because with the ordinary pin removed, the whole trailer could be shoved away from the truck. Scary, huh? You first disassemble the lock part to create your own combination. Then you hook up and relax! I hoped for just slightly better construction, but it works well, and fits tight. Fumbling with a key under there or a lock that can get corroded didn't sound like a good idea to me."
