Love my camp oven!, October 26, 2009
By Winkypea from Moyock, NC

"This is a nice little oven for cooking biscuits, garlic bread, cookies etc. It needs to be out of the wind to stay hot, but I am still experimeting with it!

Love that it folds flat and can be put in a drawer or in the cabinets of the camper.

coleman camping oven, September 10, 2009
By lulubel from Hayward,Ca

"No complant about the product or any of the products that I get from Cabela's. The phone people are alway freindly and very very helpful with anything you buy or ask questions that you ask even if you don't buy.

I haven't got to play with the oven yet, but in October I will get my chance. If its anything like the one that my Dad had, it will work like a charm.

I hope this will help.

Camping Oven!!, September 1, 2009
By HeatherV from Nevada

"I purchased the Coleman Camping Oven for a family reunion. From the first day,,everyone was raving about the food.

We made biscuits, muffins, cobbler, brownies, cornbread. We also used to keep food warm as we cooked other things.

My only comments,,,not really a negative
1) cover top with tin foil or a towel,,,holds the heat more evenly
2) practice at home before you take out camping...we did to work out the kinks on our back porch one saturday,, everyone was impressed on our trip at how easy it was to bake in a little make shift kitchen in the forest.

This has quickly become my favorite piece of camping equipment.

Great Purchase, July 24, 2009
By Agfire from Linden, CA

"This oven worked great. You just have to play with the temperature controls on your stove to get it dialed in. After using this oven for the first time, I was hooked. I find myself trying to think of things that I can cook in it. I reccomend this item to anyone."

camping oven, July 21, 2009
By RichardJ from Renton , WA

"I bought this about two weeks ago and had the opportunity to use it today. My wife had a board meeting tonight at our house. We had finger food that could eather be cooked in the oven,or on top of the stove. Today was very hot with no A/C,so I told my wife that I would use my new oven from Cabela's on our BBQ,when I first started up the oven it smoked up some and I told her that it will pass. She said she would cook some on top of the stove,I said I would cook the rest in the Colemen oven. when all said and done she said mind came out better then hers. NO MORE NEEDS TO BE SAID."

Scortched Buns, July 6, 2009
By Anonymous from California

"Tried to cook some cornbread over a camp stove (as recommended). lthough the recipe called for oven temp of 400 degrees, I could only get the temp on the built in thermometer up to about 350 degrees (even with a fresh propane canister). Faulty thermometer?
The cornbread cooked at about the recipe's recommended time but the bottom 1/2 inch was scortched in the non-stick baking pan. After cutting off the carbonized bottom portion the cornbread was reasonably tasty.
Next run I will try adding an aluminum or silicone pad between the baking pan and the oven rack to see if that disperses the heat better throughout the oven.

Coleman Camping Oven, July 2, 2009
By Gordfirefly from Nova Scotia, Canada

"I had a Coleman oven when I first got married, over 40 years ago and enjoyed it very much. Now, several years later, and owning several travel trailers, we are now back to a hardtop camper. Not having an oven in the camper I ordered a Coleman oven. They haven't changed in design, and there is no need to. The oven is effective to do all the things that you would do in a regular oven but on a smaller scale. There is nothing like a small roast chicken in the wilderness."

Camping Oven, May 19, 2009
By WalleyeHound from Tennessee

"Purchased this oven to take on wilderness fishing trips where weight and packing volume is always an issue, but the benefit of an oven is also significant in the menu choices and variety.

Have baked several items at home using a one burner propane stove rated at 10,000BTU. This single burner will easily get the oven up to 425 degrees at about half throttle. At this temp, it will bake almost anything. Have made corn bread, breakfast muffins, pizza, fudge, turtle brownies, and more.

It tends to burn items at 425, so you have to make sure the inside shelf is all the way at the top of the oven. Also helps to have heavy muffin pans. Cooking at 350 or 375 degrees it burns less, so recommend lower temp recipes if possible.

The top handle came off (weld broke) so I have replaced the handle and used pop rivets to secure permanently. Don't trust the spot welds on aluminum anyway.

Overall, I like it a lot. Am still learning how to regulate heat and not burn items, but the oven is relatively light, folds compactly, and I specially like the built in thermometer in the door.

Next experiment will be to see if I can regulate temp over open camp fire?

Overall a good buy and very useful.

Best little Oven!, March 30, 2009
By EagleKaren from Beautiful Sunny So Cal!!

"REceived this oven as a birthday present. Heats quickly but temp is sometimes hard to control. Doesn't matter, especially if you are watching your food (I do) when cooking. Made bisquits and now can't wait to make cookies! Really fun! And well built. Coleman definitely makes a quality product. Stores nicely too...very flat!"

Coleman camp oven, March 16, 2009
By spwheels from Largo, Florida

"We used our Coleman oven for the first time last weekend and we couldn't be more pleased with it. It's easy to set up and it baked the cinamon rolls we had with ease. You do have to watch the temp. because it heats up faster than you might think and your food could burn. Definitely worth the price."

Great Tailgating Item, October 14, 2008
By TheTailgatingGroup

"I bought this and used it for tailgating at football games. I put it on top of my Road Trip Grill and baked biscuits in it. When you opened the door to check on them, wow the smell was great. The possibilities are endless in what we will bake in it next. Adds a new dimension to our tailgating! Kicks it up a notch."

Camping Oven, October 10, 2008
By PaintHorses from KY

"I purchased this oven for a week long camping trip with 2 other couples (total of 10 of us). I would not take another trip without this oven. We cooked french fries and biscuits & warmed up leftovers - it works fantastic. It heats up and cooks fast. No waiting around on this one.
Can't wait to use it again in a couple of weeks. Don't let the size of this fool you- it pulls it's weight and more.

Coleman Oven, September 29, 2008
By Bobsuruncle from Southern New Mexico

"The oven works well, just a little difficult to regulate the temperature. Not sure how accurate the temp gauge is, but it is not much of an issue for me.
Well constructed and easy to set up and use. It is a quality Coleman product. It was about the same price everywhere I looked.
