"A few months ago, I was in need of some help with a stuck patched round ball in the barrel of my Hawken rifle. In over thirty years of blackpowder shooting and shooting other types of firearms, I never had anything like this happen to me. Whatever the problem that might come up during all types of shooting, I could handle it. This time was different. Several of us tried in vain to free the stuck ball. We were in the middle of a trail walk competition, and it looked like my entire weekend was going rapidly down the tubes if I couldn't clear my rifle barrel and continue to shoot. A friend who happened to be shooting with us produced a Cabela's discharger from his shooting bag. He cleared my barrel in about three seconds and saved my weekend. I thought I would get the same tool he has plus the adapter kit so I could be in the postition to "pay it forward", should the need arise. I would not dream of going blackpowder shooting now without the discharger in my shooting gear."

"This adapter is a must have if you have a side flintlock rifle or pistol that needs clearing when used with the CO2 Load Discharger also found on this web site. Worked great in clearing my 40" flintlock barrel of powder, patch, and round ball."
