Nice front sight,September 29, 2008
By fthorsbyfrom Flushing, Mi
"I bought this front sight from my DP standard model 1874 Sharps rifle. The globe front sight installs easily (push out the original, slide in the new sight) into the dovetail. The sight includes a number of inserts for various sight pictures. Simply unscrew the sight tube, drop in a new insert and re-tighten the tube."

Globe Sight,May 29, 2008
By Shotsfrom Los Lunas, NM
"I purchased the the Globe sight for my Pedersoli, "Quigley" Sharps. It mounted easily and the sight card was as good as the higher priced cards I have seen. When using the buckhorn/ladder that comes with the rifle, my shots are high. A file on the rear sight will take care of that."

"this sight put my rifle back on target . it has just the right hight to to put you on zero at 100yrds. very easy to install with no gunsmithing needed. i used a soft metal drift punch and had it on and ready to go in less than 30 minutes. just be careful and get it centerd and it will work for you. the inserts cover just about any light condition and target picture. well worth the money i say."

DP Aperture front sight,November 28, 2006
By srf5290from Florida
"DP makes some fine products. I purchased their "Billy Dixon" Sharps rifle in .45-70 and found it to be a work of art, but the sights were less than stellar. The plain front blade and vernier style rear were passably functional. I decided to try to find new sights in my Cabela's catalog and found more than I could have hoped for, and by the same manufacturer as the rifle!!!
The DP Soule sight took care of my rear sight needs, replacing the somewhat crude vernier, but a rear sight is only as good as the front.
The front sight that sealed the deal for me was the DP Front Globe sight. It came with a finely blued card of metal insert apertures, posts, and crosshairs in various sizes and types. Now I can customize my front sight to whatever type target suits my fancy. The apertures make shooting a one hole group on NRA bull's eye type targets possible at ranges I would have thought impossible without a scope.
The sight installed easily with the use of a nylon drift punch and small hammer. Simply drift out the old and drift in the new, it ain't rocket science.
Most people wouldn't think to use iron sights in this day and age where high quality scopes can be had for peanuts. But they're equally surprised when those irons help you print a group smaller that their fancy bolt gun with it's high power optics at a distance they think that ol' gun of yours wont even reach."
