Top Quality,March 2, 2009
By TKOSHOTfrom Chico, Ca
"This set is everything I hoped for when I orderd it. The cleaver is a big heavy stout blade, that can handle any chore you choose to give it, and the little caping knife is very handy and a great little gutting knife. I keep my covered with a light coating of 3 in 1 oil, as they will rust if you don't take care of them properly."

Great Knife,August 7, 2007
By racnoocfrom Fairbanks, Alaska
"I first saw this knife in 1999. A friend (a military survival instructor) had purchased it and I was impressed enough with it on initial inspection to purchase one for myself.
I have used this knife set on two Dall sheep, and a number of moose. This knife will easily stay sharp through the cleaning of an entire moose without need of resharpening. The ulu style blade gives a much greater cutting radius over a standard drop point, making it much easier to skin an animal.
I loaned the Cub Bear Knife to a taxidermist friend for caping a Dall sheep and I had a hard time getting it back - he liked it TOO much.
This combo is the first thing I pack when I'm ready to go hunting in Alaska. i highly recommend this combo to anyone who is going to be doing a lot of field butchering."

Skinning made easy(ier),November 20, 2006
By Trainfrom Fall City, WA
"We recently used the Alaska Brown Bear Combo to skin a 1300 lb moose and a 1500 lb moose. The skinner handled the tough hide brilliantly with minimal sharpening and the caping knife did a beautiful job in insuring I will have a beautiful trophy to remind me of my hunt. In essence, we were able to skin two moose in the time it would take to skin one using a lesser quality knife."

Worth The Weight,October 31, 2006
By Lancefrom Cheyenne, WY
"This Combo is well worth the weight. This is a well built set of knives. The caping knife works well for smaller chores. Last year I dressed my entire antelope with it alone. The cleaver is very stout I have used it to dress elk and it has held its edge very well. It did take a while to get used to the radius edge, but for skining the hide off an animal it's excellent. I have the model with the rubber handles and they are not flashy like the stag handled version but the are functional and thats whats important to me. The only drawback to the combo is that it is heavy but I think it is worth the weight."
