"It worked better than I expected.
When I put it together, the grill box seemed a little light and flexed a little. But on the stove, it worked marvelously! The grill itself is nice and heavy and the box has a heat baffle in it to prevent burning and so you can add wood chips. A half a cup of wood chips was more than enough to give our BBQ a smoked flavor.
I'm hoping we'll be able to bake in it as well.
It will go on all of our future camping trips.
If it were a little less expensive, I would give it 5 stars."

"I was going to buy a new grill, but I had a camp chef, so I bought this bbq box to try out instead. That was over a year ago. I think it's easier than a real grill to clean and it cooks just as well."

"I have 2 concerns
The lifting handle seems hot to the touch as I lift the lid. I think a non heat-conductive material should be used. Perhaps a wooden handle of hardwood or wood inside the metal tube of the handle.
Secondly the handle seems to be TOO close to the lid. As I lift the lid with the handle, steam readily escapes and almost burns the hand.
Of course I could wear gloves in either of the situations.

"I bought this to go with my Camp Chef stove after my last gas grill's burner system died on me. It works well only if the meat you are cooking is not fatty and use the stove's lower settings - two burners equal 60,000 BTU's and this is more than any gas grill's output that I have ever owned.
I cooked a marinated 2" chuck roast on it this week to nearly well done - my wife likes no blood - in about an hour on the stove's lowest setting and it was almost fork tender. Great for steaks, roasts, pork chops; but hamburgers can be like working with napalm."

"Cooks great...but made a mess dripping down into the camp stove...then onto our deck. Clean-up was a lot of work also...not worth all the trouble just for a few hamburgers. We are looking forward to using it for a large cookout...out in the woods where the mess won't be so much a big deal."

"This is a must have item for those of us who have a triple burner stove.
I purchased this item because I have a two burner griddle that I use to cook on but I couldn't get the heat through pork loins or large pieces of meat.
I decided to try out the bbq box during my last family vacation trip to the Outer Banks in NC. I bring all the grilling supplies and equipment for the family to use while we are down there. The bbq box was a huge success and worked perfectly. Cooked four pork loins at once for dinner to perfection. Burgers and sausage for 12 with no problem.
Easy cleanup and sturdy construction.
I highly recommend this item."

"I allways brought both a Camp Chef stove and BBQ on all my trips. The last trip was the first with the new Camp Chef Pro BBQ box and it was the last time I will bring a seperate BBQ. I cooked T-Bones one day and Chicken the next and love this unit! The unit has great heat control and even with the chicken there were no grease fires. I purchased this for a friend and will be ordering another one for myself."
