Camp Chef 2-burner Cooker,October 12, 2009
By TajMahalfrom Salt Lake City, Utah
"I purchased this cooker and two other items from Cabelas prior to taking a three-night camping trip. It assembled easy and was a pleasure to hook up to the gas tank (no more wrenches!!!). The igniter worked all the time, even during a 20+ mile per hour wind. The only thing the cooker could not do was stand up to one 88 mile per hour wind gust. But afterwards, it fired right back up."

High Quality and Cabelas service - No brainer,October 8, 2009
By gbrhuskersfrom Northern, VA
"I bought this stove from Cabelas to use with my RV. The quick connect RV hose (purchased from camp chef) means I don't have to lug around an extra tank. Simply setup, plugin, and start cooking. I've had the 2 burner for several years now and use it nearly every meal while I'm camping. I even used the BBQ box to cook pork baby back ribs for about 3-4 hours without burning them.
The stove also comes in very handy for scout campouts when cooking for large groups or when the power goes out at the house where there is no natural gas.
I have not had a single problem with the stove and it is very well made. I would not hesitate to buy another should the need arise some day. But, that will likely be a long time from now."

the BEST,September 26, 2009
By happycookerfrom Eastern North Carolina
"I have had the 3-burner sports grill for 4 years. I love this grill and do not use anything else. When we go camping always take this grill, have also purchased the griddle, griddle and some cast iron pots. There is usually 20 or more when we go and we stay from 2 to 13 nights. Some made fun of this funny grill, but have come to really admire my grill. With having the griddle and B-B-Que box, there is nothing that I know of you can not cook on this grill. The only downside is that this grill is on the heavy side, but when there are others around, loading and unloading is a snap. Best money ever spent. When this one falls apart, will have another like this. It is also used a lot at home, so it does not get a lot of rest."

The best piece of cooking equipment,September 19, 2009
By chiptoothfrom Redding, CA
"I bought the 3 burner a few years ago. I use it everytime we go camping. We RV camp and it stores easily in the 5th wheel and I had two, six foot gas lines made, so I can tap into the propane from the trailer. Husbands do all the cooking and everyone wants to use my cooker. I have the 2 burner BBQ and griddle.
I would recommend this for every camper. Cooks everything from small to large meals."

Camp chef 2 burner stove,September 9, 2009
By Shackmanfrom WNC
"I got this stove not for camp use but to use on the porch to accompany my charcoal grill. In the spring and fall, we don't like to heat up the house, so we cook outside a lot. The burners are quite potent, providing enough heat to boil a large stock pot or heat oil for frying, yet adjusts down enough to simmer. You'll want to use 10" pans or greater (the flame will engulf smaller cookware), but the surface is great for larger cookware. Very sturdy, fully assembled, and ready to cook. Love the side shelves and the wind blocker. Would definitely recommend and would buy again."

Excellent stove, but heavy and bulky,August 14, 2009
By jdavid93225from Mountains of Southern California
"I purchased the three burner model to use when I go camping. It came with the small (one burner) BBQ box when I bought it, and I also bought the two burner griddle and the wheeled carry bag.
For staying in one place for several days or longer, it is a wonderful stove to have and to use. When I camp somewhere for only one night at a time, it's too big and bulky to bother with. It takes up a fair amount of room, especially when you also take along the 20 lb. propane tank. My smaller two burner campstove is much easier to transport, and it is designed to use the smaller disposable propane cylinders.
The unit is very well suited for use in a group setting where several people are sharing the stove, or where a few people are cooking for a large group. The large burners put out a lot of heat, so they work very well with heavy (i.e. cast iron) cookware. It is somewhat difficult to regulate the heat to a low enough setting to use light or flimsy cookware. I found when using this stove with aluminum non stick frying pans that they heated up very quickly, and care had to be exercised to prevent the food from burning.
Overall, I really like this stove because it's sturdy and durable, and has enough cooking area to prepare food for a small army. The selection of accessories is good, and those that I've tried are worthwhile. If you're staying somewhere for more than a couple of nights, and have a lot of people to feed, this is where this stove proves its worth. It is also good in windy areas because the weight of the stove protects it from blowing over. I would also recommend it for use in a disaster scenario where you might need to boil a lot of water, or to cook for your family, or even your whole block, following a natural disaster.
The downsides are the size and weight of the unit, and the relative lack of a low heat setting from the burners. It is a bit overkill if you're just camping for a night or two, and only feeding up to four people. For that purpose, I would recommend a smaller, lighter campstove."

Great stove!,August 13, 2009
By AZchuckfrom AZ
"You won't find a more powerful, useful stove for camping. It's not small nor light but it works very well.
It will easily boil water in below freezing weather in minutes.
I got the 3 burner and would recommend it if you need to cook several things at once."

3-Burner,July 19, 2009
By Texcookfrom Vernon, Texas
"After 58 years of successful camp cooking on white gas stoves, I bit the bullet and bought the 3-burner. Three families cooked on the stove for three weeks in the mountains of New Mexico and everyone agrees it was the most valuable piece of equipment we hauled. The electronic ignition worked great, coffee was warm before anyone else woke up, stews cooked well, fajitas were delicious, pancakes cooked evenly. Wish I had bought one a long time ago. Buy the wheeled carrying bag!"

Great Right Out of the Box,December 9, 2008
By DinoDfrom Carlsbad, CA
"No assembly required; just unfold the legs, connect to the tank, and you're ready to go. This unit comes with an electric starter for both burners, so no need to augment with additional starters. If you plan on grilling, then get the grill box. I went with the single grill box so one burner was still available for other cooking. Great for car camping or when you will be stationary for a while since this stove does weigh a bit."
