"This should be included with every labrador pup. Dog learns to mark the fall when he hears the shot, throws long and is well built. I did not get the stock, but if I had it to do over, I would. Your hand gets a good smack with the yellow loads. I have 150 shots on mine in a month with no problems."

"The shot went off and it was louder than I expected, but then my ears are older that when I last shot a .22 cal anything.. So hearing protection is a must.. but the instuctions said so.. I would like to see the small round available but it looks as if cabellas only carries the medium size. Yep, it will throw the dummy three hundred feet.. Lots of fun !! Your dog will love it."

"It works great on land or on water...I can do multiple marks with my pup in the water or on land...the only downside is if you dont have the shoulder mount for it it beats the tar out of your hand. After about 10 or so my thumb knuckles are bruised for days."

"Great product. I would recommend this to anyone. Ear plugs are a must and a kick equal to a 12ga shotgun. The only thing I would change about this product is the way you have to pull the 22 charge out with pliers. There is no reason why the design could not be changed to where the shell could be ejected on its own."

"The launcher is great. I recommend going with the full kit so you can get the single hand attachment. The system as is is hard to launch. You need 2 hands and I am training 2 dogs so it makes it difficult. Spend the extra money and you will be glad."

"Having had an earlier version, the improvements make the product much better. The extension is a must & the ejector works very well. The medium ammo that came with the kit propels the dummy quite far which is very good for getting the dog to mark well and go the distance required of many retrieves. The report is very loud and ear plugs are a must, so make sure your dog is well acquainted with the gun before firing around a young dog. I suggest that one get extra dummies. Be careful of trees as I launched one of them into a large oak never to be seen again."

"Who would have thought a 22 blank could cause that much noise, and recoil in a shoulder launcher,lol. I sure didn't and it scared the bejeeezus out of me the first time I shot that thing. I also underestimated the effect that would have on my dog. Needless to say, I think we will have to wait until the spring and reintroduce my dog to the shot, and start it at a much greater distance away from him so he doesn't spook like he did. Still, a good product, as it launched both the dummy, and the teal dummy I brought a good distance."

"I love this tool. My labs are even bigger fans then me. If you order one make sure to get a dokken teal bumper for it. It has the real bird feel that works great. Only reason I gave it 4 stars for was that I havent found a place to order the O rings for the wand"

"My 14 month old lab goes nuts when she sees this come out ! She was getting bored with the hand thrown dummies to the point of not retrieving them all the time . Now we can work on staying at the shot until released + watching the flight all the way down. Then when it hits in the tall stuff she has started to cast into the wind to find it + will look back for hand signs . 4 stars instead of 5 because the extractor is not the best + the canvas dummy is showing a fair amount wear after a 100 rounds . Bottom line tough a great tool for retriever work !"

"Works great. Wear earplugs as it is rather loud. To keep from being frustrated with removing spent loads, wait until your dogs brings back the dummy, then open the device then push the dummy back down onto the device then the backpressure of the dummy will dislodge the spent round and pop it up about a quarter inch and you can easily pull it out with your fingernails. Great device."

"Even though I have only used this item a few times I can already see the benefit of having one. Teaching the dog to mark along with the sound of gun fire from the gun makes this item a must for any serious dog trainer. The kit that the gun comes in makes it easy to keep everything together. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was the head ache of trying to get the spent shell out of the gun."

"Great tool, and really affirms and promotes excitement in your dog when the gun goes off. I would give it a five if it had a better ejector. Not terrible but not great either, I carry a small pair of nettle nose pliers just incase. Also make sure you do wear hearing protection, just because its a 22 blank doesn't mean it can't carry a bang. I also recommend the shoulder attachment. Your hand can take a beating if your no careful."

Remarkable, fun for the dogs tool,April 30, 2008

"This is a "wonderful", fun tool to train your dogs with. Held by hand it is hard on your wrist and the dummy doesn't get propelled as far either. The shoulder mount that attaches to the launcher makes it much better and adds a considerable distance to how far the dummy goes. The negative things to this product is ejecting the spent blank is sometimes impossible with the ejector that is built into the launcher. I carry a pair of needle nose pliers in the kit to remove the spent blank because ejection is very hard or impossible. I have also encountered many "dud" blanks or blanks that propelled the dummy only about 6 feet! Overall I would buy it again however the design for ejecting the spent blank needs to be addressed. The other improvent it could use is to have it "self cocking"when you open it up and eject the spent blank it cocks it for the next round. It also needs a trigger arrangement. The current firing mechanism is very basic and waring!"
