Various drills are covered including force-fetching, swim by, and nine cast drills. The DVD also covers the wagon wheel and honoring.
The new 25 chapter Top Dog II DVD starts where Top Dog left off and focuses on even more advanced situations including honoring, blinds and long lines. The DVD also includes extending retriever and collar conditioning.

Everything that a waterfowler wants in a retriever is covered in this video. The DVD adds some upland info for a more rounded hunter.
48 chapters of Gun Dog go into the areas of the essential "whoa" commands using the time tested "pulley" technique, and sometimes tricky retrieving skills involving force fetching. Gun Dog DVD also covers 5 tests for pup selection and offers vet tips.
The 37 chapter Family Dog is for a healthy first class member of your family, includes dog selection, house breaking and basic obedience all without unneeded frustration and time consuming training marathons.

not good,July 21, 2009
By azduckhunterfrom phoenix az
"Richard Wolters is a great trainer but “this” DVD doesn’t teach you the step by step how to. It puts the most emphasis on choosing the right pup. I agree with that but you can teach just about any dog to do just about anything I had a Rottweiler before I got my 2 labs and I was able to train her for waterfowl with the help of another DVD named hunting retriever training by Lohman. That is a more in depth training aid to help you teach your dog."

"I thought the DVD would be more in depth about a mature dog. Other than that the movie was very informative."

Age of Dog is Very Important,June 6, 2008
By Anonymousfrom Columbia, South Carolina
"Water dog guides you from the 49th day. This DVD is great but let it be known that it needs to show the fact that it isnt for upfront training of Canines at any age... I thoroughly enjoyed this dvd but i wish i had known the specifications needed to fully use the Richard A Wolters Dog Training DVDs- Water Dog."

Water Dog,March 21, 2008
By JacquesGfrom Stillwater, MN
"This DVD was extremely good for me as a person new to dog training. The lessons were spelled out very clearly. I look forward to putting it to use on my new lab pup. I also bought the game dog dvd and book and would save the money and only buy the game dog book and water dog dvd. Thanks Cabela's."

Water Dog - DVD,February 27, 2008
By Bealefrom Greenville, S.C.
"The Richard A. Wolters Water Dog DVD was a great purchase and one we enjoyed as a family. My entire family watched it and we are making great progress training "Scout" our Lab pup. Having the DVD allowed my younger kids to watch and understand most of the training exercises. A picture is worth a thousand words! Hopefully we are providing consistent instruction to "Scout" and he'll be retrieving Doves this Fall!"

Misleading Propaganda,October 30, 2007
By Wilddogfrom TX
"The DVD might have made a humerous sit-com twenty years ago; however, the format and the lack of depth of training info presented was boring and somewhat insulting to someone who was seriously interested in training their dog..."

Water Dog IH 616622,August 6, 2007
By Montarvillefrom Saint-Bruno, Quebec, Canada
"Please note the Item number to avoid confusion with Gun Dog Wolters Trains Retreivers DVD. The trainer in this DVD is NOT R Wolters. I would have rated this DVD 5 stars-excellent but I disliked seeing Scoop, one of the dogs, fearing the trainer, especially during the force fetch training; this is not the kind of relationship I wish to establish with my dog. Otherwise the DVD is excellent and very useful, and I recommend it."

Awesome Training Guide!,November 20, 2006
By tswangfrom Sunbury, PA
"We have a golden retriever, we got him when he was 7 weeks old in May '06. The first day of duck season this fall he was ready, large in part due to this dvd. It was an awesome training guide and I'm glad we purchased it!"
