"These cylinder pouches are constructed of heavy pre-formed leather that hold the cylinder under the flap as tightly as a cartridge belt holds a cartridge. The lower end is open yet choked and preformed to a smaller diameter so as to not allow the cylinder to fall through, even under the heaviest jostling. The top flap closes tight with a heavy snap that protects the cylinder from the elements. All that is required to remove the cylinder, is a quick flip of the flap, rest you thumb on the outside edge of the top pushing upward with two fingers from the bottom and you instantly have it in your hand.
I secure the percussion caps to the nipples with a small drop of clear fingernail polish and have yet to have one work loose... I would recommend these pouches to anyone who wants a fine looking, heavy stitched and rivited piece of leathercraft, and a more than functional cylinder pouch!"

"I have a half dozen of these pouches and they work extremely well on all of my Remington 1858 New Army revolver and Colt 1860 Army/1851 Navy revolver cylinders. They wear well and are durable, but beware of some of these pouches coming a bit misshapen for this makes them difficult to snap closed over a cylinder body once set inside the pouch. They may require some reshaping or returning to seller. Otherwise, these pouches are a great product for the price."

"I got confederate brown and I like this pouch. It fits the spare cyclinder for my cap and ball .36 cal 1861 Army single action perfectly. It matches the civil war belt and western open top holster perfectly."

"How can you beat this deal ? I ordered this pouch at the same time that I ordered a spare cylinder.I'm glad that I did. This pouch is constructed of about 6-8 oz. top grain leather,well oiled.It is not the rough finish latigo-type leathers that is so common nowadays.It was well stitched with a heavy nylon thread,and well finished and shaped.The cylinder fits into the pouch snugly,but not so tight as to make removal difficult.The oil finish matches any holster or belt that is finished in a walnut oil finish like they were made together.The closure is brass,and is very secure.Get one with your spare cylinder - it beats your pocket."

"received my cylnder pouch today, took 6 days to arrive...the pouch itself looks great...but when i soaked it in warm water the stitching came apart on both sides...no big deal...i have a seamstress who lives next door...she'll hook me up..good product for the price...just wish shipping was a lil quicker...the horses they use now are a wee slower than back in the day"

"I purchased two of these for my extra cylinders for a Remington New Army 44 cap and ball. Fit and finish is excellent, color is a little more red than brown but with a little use and age should look good with my belt and holster.
Leather is a little stiff when new but with some linseed oil should soften up nicely."
