Great Rod.,September 11, 2009
By ThresherKingfrom Santa Maria, CA
"This is a 2 piece rod, and not one dead spot. 40+lb whiteseabass are not a problem. I paired this rod with a avet sx, and i can cast it a mile. Highly recomended. Cabela's if your listining, make a casting version in a heavier action, and you will set a new standard."

It's a great buy,August 18, 2008
By Jundimfrom East Bay, San Francisco, Ca
"The rod is a perfect match for my Abu C3 baitcasting reel. It cast like a rocket and the sensitivity is just what I need for the rough surf of San Francisco. Now I am thinking about buying the spinning version."

Versatil Fishing Rod,August 4, 2008
By Ocellatafrom North Carolina
"I have owned one of these rods for several years and bought this one (along with a couple of Penn 9M's) in order to have a dedicated matched pair for Spanish Mackeral trolling. The 11' length allows me to use a long leader between a bird or a trolling sinker and still lift the fish into the boat or grasp the leader close to the fish. Spanish are spooky of a trolling sinker, which is overcome by a long (12') flourocarbon leader. In addition, I have used my Predator rod (casting version) for surf fishing. I love the softness of its action--I can cast to a particular distance (between the successive sandbars) without having to heave with all my might or use a shock leader to avoid breakoffs. For this I use an old Penn Peerless without levelwind. I am looking forward to using both (when I can get an appropriate reel), one rigged with, say, mole crabs for Virginia Mullet, as we call them, or whiting (Mentcirrhus spp.), left in the sand spike while casting a plug or swimbait for redfish."

Cabela's European Predator Casting Rod,February 27, 2008
By GAVBfrom Davenport, WA.
"I purchased this rod as a gift for my son. He was surprised with the quality and the way it handles. He has been practicing with it for long casting, has no problem casting great distances with good accuracy, he has ordered the spinning rod, he is very pleased with performance and quality."

one use,April 25, 2007

"I used the rod once from a boat fishing for schoolie stripers. The rod casts half ounce bucktails fine, extra distance. Action seemed right for 30 plus inch stripers. I can get more cast with less fatigue with a seven foot bate casting rig. I am looking foward to using the rod from shore."

Excellent,January 20, 2007
By HappyCamper06from Rural Oklahoma
"Great action in a long rod. Excellent with medium sized lures down below the dam. The handle below the reel may be a little long for those under 6'."
