"Overview this pocket watch is very nice, keeping good time for the month I have now owned it.
Quality is excellent for the price, even though I agree with other reviewers that it could be a tad bigger.
Lanyard that comes with it is quite tacky and ugly. You will quickly replace it with some else, it won't matter what.
I expect to have this watch for a few years..."

"A couple of years ago, I began to dislike the feel of a wristwatch for some reason. So I've been looking at pocket watches for a while. The $400 one is really nice but a bit big in the pants pocket and more for dress-up occasions anyway. The $40 ones just don't last. The Cabelas fits the bill for me.
Pros:
Classic design (unlike the gimmicky Dakotas) Large enough, legible dial and full size second hand. Costs a days pay instead of a weeks pay. Thin (1/4") and actually pocketable. Hard crystal, no scratches yet.
Cons:
None so far. The construction seems solid, and I'm hoping it'll hold up.
It comes with a huge lanyard. I made a much smaller one from 550 cord."

"I`ve had this watch for 1 1/2 years..Very nice watch kept excellent time no problems at all.....Comes with a 1 year warranty..To bad it Konked out 6 months after the warranty was up...Battery was still good Took it to a jeweler, he was unable to unscrew the back of the watch to look inside. To bad I really liked this watch.....Am going to get another pocket watch...But not this one"

"STARTED USING A POCKET WATCH INSTEAD OF WRIST WATCH RECENTLY... GOT TIRED OF TAKING OF WRIST WATCH OFF WHEN I WAS WORKING IN THE YARD ...ETC. A GOOD POCKET WATCH IS HARD TO FIND. "I ordered this watch so I could use it in my job. I like it because it is tough and complies with the safety rules and regulations of my job and of the companies I work for. The only thing i found disapointing was it's size. It is smaller than I expected. In the product discription it does not refer to its size, or I may have missed it. I will and have reccomended this product to my friends and in showing it to them, they like it but most have said that it seems small. Again, I like this product but I wish that it was a bit bigger. "...okay, so maybe this will sound petty, but my small pocket watch arrived with a very large price tag stuck on the back. Not the kind that peel off cleanly, but the sort that leaves a residue of glue and shmutz. It won't be a major deal to remove, though I'll have to be careful about the abrasiveness of whatever I use, but since the watch is shipped in a plastic box that also has the price tag, why put one on the watch itself and require the extra cleaning? Otherwise, the watch is fine."

"I had purchased one awhile back and used it faihfully for many years, then when I went to get something from my pocket it must have fallen out. I had lost it. I looked at a lot of pocket watches. They are somewhat hard to find. This model is still the best out there. It is easy to read, good looking and can take a reasnable beating. It can't be dropped from to great a distance though, the second hand sweep becomes doslodged. The cord that attaches to your belt could be bit longer, but I believe it is the best buy for the money."

"I bought this pocket watch for my husband. He is a farmer, who is hard on watches. After about 4 weeks the metal loop on the top came apart from the watch, but nothing that a pocket tool couldn't take care of. He likes the large display and simple black background. His last pocket watch (different brand) lasted 10 years, hope this one will as well."

"Good pocket watches are hard to find, most are decorative junk. I am a rancher and cannot wear a wrist watch because I am too hard on them. I have had several of these watches over the years and they are the real thing. They can go through the washing machine and dryer unharmed. These watches are tough and keep good time, what more could you ask for? Batteries last for about two years and are not that hard to replace. Overall, an excellent value."

"I purchased this watch to use when deer hunting. I wasn't sure that I liked the size, it seems a little small. But after a bit of wear around town, the size is comfortable in a watch pocket, and the dial is easy for me to read. The problem i have is that it is almost too nice to use for a field watch."
