Super boat paint!,
September 11, 2009
By schneidermj

"Paint was used in a hybrid layout duck boat project. Boat is wood and fiberglass construction. Sand and treat surface with Acetone. Used 3 layers of Marsh Grass and boat is now on it's second season. Apply paint in layers and let cure in the sun for a few days for a good "hard" dull finish.
Last year I was in the boat taking down decoys and still had birds cupping at 5 yds. Paint is nice and dull and will not flare birds. Great paint!!!"

Nice Paint,

"This has been a quality product for a long time. Parker duck boat Paint comes in good colors for our area (Salt marshes) and does not require perfect preparation in order to last. In Salt environments you will neeed to use bottom paint to stop the salt from peeling it off or be prepared to paint every year. Me, I scrape paint and touch up each fall."

Good color, but a little thin.,
September 9, 2009
By PistolDave

"Hunter green color matches the water color well if you hunt in a murky green colored water. It is like a dark OD color.
If you mix the marsh grass with it 50/50 it makes an olive color (not OD).
Marsh grass is a color that blends in well with the muddy water color from lowland backwater such as the flooded farmground around the Mississippi river. It is more of a very light brown to tan color.
The paint is fairly thin, so it does take more than I expected to cover. Not anywhere as thick as certain other companies paints. The main reason I like it is that it is extremely flat and it is very close to matching the colors in the area I hunt in.
I am ordering more soon."

Camo Duck boat paint,
June 23, 2008
By SDAntelopehunter
from Boston MA
|
"I was very pleased with Parker duck boat paint. I used it to camo my 12' aluminum v-hull boat used for waterfowl hunting and fishing. I needed 3 quarts to apply 2 coats inside and out. Other reviews I had read seemed to need half the amount but I needed 3 quarts.
I used a bristle brush around the rivets and corners and a 7" yellow foam roller from a marine store, the type used for fiberglass work.
To prep the aluminum I used and abrasive pad and washed in down with mineral spirits and applied self-etching primer.
I have received lots of compliments so far."

"The paint reallly covered the boat well. I painted an unpainted aluminum 15 foot boat, and covered it with two coats. It only took about 1 1/4 quarts for paint."

"Great stuff, have been using this for some time. It's also alot cheaper then the Petit Duck Boat Paint. Too bad they don't make it in Duck Boat Brown. I bought Dull Dead Grass. Most duck boats are the duck boat brown."
