"I purchased one of these boxes last year and have used it for a couple of long hunts in Alaska. I put it through some rough use and it kept my gear dry and held up without any problems. It also held a lot of gear, which was a plus. The only issue was the u-bolts securing it to the ATV having to be covered in order to keep them from rubbing against my equipment. I would definitely recommend this box to anyone looking for a good ATV box for their gear."

"The box was hard to install lots drilling and clamps (we had to buy some more) for a good fit (on my atv). Box cover to flimsy, had to reinforce with rods to make it stiff so it will close right. Not very water tight. Locking clamps had to be replaced to lock. It has plenty of space for everything you need, but would not recommend to anyone to buy unless know what your doing. Good idea bad design"

"Quite roomy inside allowing storage for just abour eveything. Only slight objection is alignment of the hinge lock rings will only allow use of the smallest luggage locks(1/4" ring only protrudes halfway through the hasp)."

"I have used this box on two occasions. One for atv trail riding, and one for hunting in Colorado. Box is sufficient to carry just about anything that you can throw in it. However it does have a small flaw in that both hands have to be used to open the lid. However this is a small inconvenience. Would recommend this product to anyone who is looking for a lots of storage space."

"We really like the way this sits on the back of our ATV. It was very simple to put on. The only drawback is that you have to push up on the middle of the lid to open it. If you lift on either one of the sides it puts it in a bind. We would buy it again."

"We put the Cabela's Supersize ATV front box on two of our new Honda 650's and we're impressed. We carry a lot of 'stuff', and just spent nine days ATVing in Central Utah where we endured a variety of conditions, from dusty roads, very rough and rocky trails, to torrential rains, and these boxes kept everything dry, safe, clean, and secure! Once mounted, we cut the U bolts down and coated the ends with a liquid rubber to protect items inside the box from rubbing on the harsh bolt ends and keep dust out. We love these roomy boxes with good seals! Only complaint is it often takes two hands to open or one end or the other will catch. It can be done with one hand, but it takes a bit of wiggle and shake of the lid to get it open one handed - minor issue. Wouldn't suggest putting anything with much weight on top of the box lid unless you add some support to it, which we have not done yet. I'd purchase for another ATV or suggest to a friend for sure!"

Cabela's Rear ATV Box,August 6, 2007

"The latches on the Cabela's rear box are made out of rubber and plastic. I have a friend who purchased the identical rear box from his ATV dealer and the latches were metal. The first day I used the Cabela's box the rubber latch broke off while I was closing the lid and the box lid flopped around on the trail. This caused the rubber seal around the box lid to rub against the box top. The seal was damaged in the area of the latch and the box is no longer water tight. I think the Cabela's box latches should be made out of metal, especially for a vehicle that will be used for off road purposes. In order to keep the lid from doing additional damage I purchased a metal latch and temporarily installed it. I no longer have the cardboard shipping box the Cablea's rear ATV box came in and the shipping would be expensive, otherwise I would have sent it back."

"This box is well built, fits on the back of a Rincon like it was made for it. The "U" bolts are square to fit all rack types and the kit comes with two sets, long and short so all racks should be easily fit to. I have round rack bars, I slipped some tubing over the bolts so I would not remove the paint. Have not had any problems with the wing nuts backing off but worry that the bolt stubs sticking up will dig a hole in my spare rain coat. The box is so large that fishing poles and gear all go inside easily but sometimes things slide around and bounce up and down when not carrying much stuff. I have been leaving an old blanket or extra jacket inside to fill up the empty space. Another plus to this box is that my young son or wife has a great backrest and bolsters to keep them from sliding around. I am able to stand and handle the bike through swamps, hill climbs and such with much more security for them. Great product. While nothing is perfect or does everything this box is the answer if your looking for a hard box on a full size ATV."

"Good box, I had to stiffen up the lid with some flat bar stock and I put 1/8 padding top and bottom. Would be nice to have a few hooks on the outside for bungies for stuff on top. It is dry even after a pressure wash. Easy to install. I would recommend it."

"These are big boxes and they will hold everything, yes, even the kitchen sink. I have both the front and rear box and try as I might to fill them up, I haven't managed to do that yet. I agree with the other reviews in that the lids could use some stiffening up and using nylon locking nuts works better than the wing nuts. With the lids open though you have easy access to everything inside and the seals work great. Mount a couple of custom racks on the lid to strap extra gear to and these boxes can't be beat! I say, buy 'em!"

"Great for carrying carbine rifle (in soft case), chainsaw, tools, and personal items around the ranch, all protected from rain, sun, dust, etc.. Tons of room. Fits Honda Rancher 350 perfectly. Allow about 1 hour for installation. Only negative is the plain wingnuts for mounting, which would vibrate off easily. I replaced mine with nylon locking nuts, and have been quite happy with it ever since."

"I bought the super sized atv front box for my quad so that I could carry anything I might need when I was far off the beaten path, and the box will certainly hold everything I need but I have one large complaint. The lid on this box is way to floppy, every time I try to open the box I have to grab both sides at the same time and lift evenly or the lid hangs up, there is no way to open this box without two hands. I will be keeping this box but I will be adding an aluminum cross bar to stiffen the lid."
