French Fry Cutter,
August 17, 2009
By GREATCook

"I love the French Fry Cutter! I love having fresh fries. Due to dietary restrictions, I don't deep fry them, but coat them with a little bit of olive oil and seasoning and bake them in the oven. They taste wonderful!
I have not used the rubber feet on the cutter, as even the new replacement feet still have a moth ball smell, and I haven't found a way to get rid of the smell. I'm hoping to be able to use the feet to make it easier to use the cutter.
Overall the cutter is excellent!"

"the blades are not sharp at all. i have to push as hard as i can to get it to cut and then it dont push the potatoes all the way out the cutting blades so you have to pull it out by hand but a lot better then them chep ones you can buy for under $20."

works great,

"the cutter itself works great. I have a more expensive one from a major name cooks store, but I like this one better. One thing though, the rubber feet (well worth ordering) that go with the cutter, have screws that dont extend far enough to secure the nuts properly. I use them anyway without the nuts."

"Industrious" Fry Cutter ...,
July 8, 2009
By Gepetto
from Central Ohio
|
"... because you've got to be a fix-it man to make it right. Lots of commendations written here, but I found this cutter a disappointment. The knives were table-knife dull and required magnum effort to lever a potato through them. The screws that hold the knives in position are loc-tited in place so you cannot without great bother and effort disassemble the cutting head and sharpen the knives. I had to use a pocket torch to free the screws, but not before stripping out one of the heads. Works like it's supposed to now, but required a major tune-up.
Also, it's frame is a coarse, imprecise casting, the kind we've come to expect with imported goods."

Great French Fry Cutter!,
June 23, 2009
By rosemari21vt

"We borrowed an industrial fry cutter from a friend earlier this year for a fish fry and once we used it we had to get one for ourselves! This isn't as great as that one which we expected since this isn't an industrial one, but it still worked good. We didn't get the suction feet, instead we mounted it to the wall. Works good and a lot better than cutting by hand! Would buy again in a minute."

"I love the product but did have a small issue with the guide falling out every time you try to cut a potatoe but we figured it out. I would also like to see the suction legs being included with the product. When you pay that kind of money for a fry cutter you dont like to order the accesseries after the fact."

Good product but experiment a little.....,
January 20, 2009
By tmannbama
from Montgomery, AL

"This is a great product but has to be used carefully if you intend to cut any type of fries OTHER than regular white potatoes. One of the reasons I bought the product was that I love sweet potato fries and to cut them consistently by hand is somewhat difficult. On the first attempt with the 3/8 inch blade, it was impossible. There was sufficient pressure but the fibers in the sweet potato are apparently too dense for that blade. When I changed to the 1/2 inch blabe it was still tough but by quartering the sweet potato, I was successful in using it for the main purpose I ordered it for. I even ordered the optional 1/4 inch blade since I was told that it is great for cutting up things like onions and vegetables like squash for vegetable fries which are great. Since I ordered it late last year, I haven't had time to use it all that much but when I used it for a crowd of about 75 people, it cut up 30 lbs of potatoes in a flash...."

Great Product,
December 29, 2008
By Rick557
from Duluth, MN
|
"This french fry cutter works great. It is more than heavy duty enough to breeze through even baker potatoes. I have tried the lighter duty cutters that are a waste of money. They break or get stuck half way through the potatoe. More energy in than out with those cutters. This is the only cutter you need. It is expensive, that is why I only give it 4 out of 5 stars, but at least the quality is there."

Very quick and easy.,

"We bought the french fry cutter and it is great. We can prepare french fries fast and easy with very little mess. The greatest part is you do not have to worry about getting cut by regular knives. If you like french fries, this cutter is a great investment. The best french fries are fresh cut. Tip: Salt the cut potatoes before cooking."

Large and sturdy,

"This unit is well made and very heavy duty, the only regrets is at the time of purchase the suction cup for each leg were not available and I was told that I would have to order in quanity, and all I needed were for the four legs. When I received my French Fry cutter I used the manufacturers address and went right to them to purchase the suction cups, they also offered different size cutters and a food grade silicone spray, had Cabela's offered all of that I would have bought these items from them."
