"I used Christmas gift cards to buy this bedroll and some Canvak canvas sealer. I recently took it on its first trial run up into the Shenandoah Mountains near Charlottesville, VA. I slept outside, on a groundcloth and thermarest and was nice and comfy in the 20 degree weather. Of course, I had a fleece sleeping bag liner and I was wearing longjohns. LOTS of room in this bag (I need that, I'm 6 foot, 240 pounds) and kept the dew off me, and kept me toasty warm. Plenty of room to keep the next morning's clothes in the bag too! I like the nostalgic feel of the bedroll look. If you're looking for great quality, workmanship and utility, you can't go wrong with this. Make sure you seal the canvas tho! Just to be safe, I gave mine a double coat (over 2 days) before this trip."

"My friend and thought these would be great for our elk drop camp. His came with zipper on same side as sleeping bag, mine was on opposite. Annoying having to use sleeping bag upside down. Much more width than needed(sides drooped over our full sized cots), but a little short for my long bag. Even a little water or dirt repelling ability would have been nice, but no such luck. I would have felt good paying half as much."

"It worked great on a late season trip to northern Idaho. Keeps more warmth in the bag and the main thing I noticed it keeps the moisture off the sleeping bag in the morning in the wall tent. Sometimes the tent will sweat and drip or almost form a dew in the tent which always gets the bags wet. Having the cabela's roll on there wicked the water away. As a plus it keeps your bag clean and you can roll it up with your pillow in it so no more forgetting the pillow at home! I would buy another one in a minute."

"I purchased this bedroll because it seemed that no matter what I do I sleep cold. The bedroll has helped with that quite a bit and now I can't go camping with out it. One thing I didn't realize when purchasing the bedroll was how big it was. This thing is massive....I've thought about unzipping it and using it as a tent in a pinch. Also, I can't seem to figure out how it was meant to be rolled up. It has three straps and I have tried several different methods of rolling it up and still haven't found the one I think the designers had in mind. It did not come with any directions on how to do so. These two things aside, its a great product and is especially helpful when winter camping."

"I have now used my bed roll on about 15 camping trips. I have no problems with it what so ever. The only ting that some people might have a problem with is that it dose tend to show dirt easily. But what do you expect its white and your camping. I don't even bother to wash mine. The inside still stays clean. I have my large size sleeping bag, a 3" foam pad and my pillow all rolled up nice and neat. Throw it on the ground, unsnap 3 clips and it practically rolls its self out for you, ready to sleep in. I keep mine strapped down on the front rack of my ATV and it gets really dusty on the outside but nothing makes it in to where the bedding is. A must have for the serious camper."

"We ended up tent camped at 10,700ft in early October. Our sleeping bags were ok for it, but having a pad and bag tucked into the bedroll made for a great night sleep not realizing we would wake to 17 degree temps! I was impressed at the addtional warmth that was added due to the bedroll."

"This bedroll has room for days. I have a larger sized sleeping bag that is 30+ inches wide, it fits in this bag with room to spare. I plan on padding the bedroll with a couple blankets and setting the rig up on my padded cot for some high elevation elk hunting in a few weeks. If you have never used a bedroll than you are missing out. Cleanliness, warmth, many extras. I used to drape another sleeping bag or blankets over the one I use now inside a wall tent, I would chase that thing all night as it would fall off or what have you. With the bedroll, I will be able to keep everything together in one nice clean package and I believe it will add longer life to the gear I currently have as the canvas is very sturdy. I plan on buying a couple more to outfit the rest of the family."

"I used this bed roll on a trip into the Sierra's this fall and the temp droped below freezing. I was very confortable and warm. It helped shield the cold from not only the top of may sleeping bag, but from the ground temp. I was packing with horses and the bed roll was on the packs, it mite be a little long to tie on back of a saddle."

"Having worked and hunted with a Colorado guide for 17 years, I pretty well have what is needed. I've gone from sleeping on the ground to a cot and back to the ground. I use two foam pads (Cabela's) for comfort. This year I added the canvas bed roll what a differance, any dew was on the bed roll and not the sleeping bag, it also added at least 15-20 degrees in warmth. This year I was there for all three seasons with the first one starting Octobet 14 and busting camp November 10th not once was I get cold or uncomfortable. The ground provides the firmness I desire and Cabela's provides the comfort.

"The canvas bedroll is well constructed and will protect your sleeping bag, while adding extra warmth if needed. The use of CANVAK liquid to watre proof the bag is NOT reccomended by this camper! The oder of the protectant does not go away even after airing out for weeks."
