"It is the perfect size for deep frying catfish and fries. However, mine did not come with a thermometer. According to the directions it was suppose to have. Trying to find the right length thermometer to purchase seperately has been fruitless."

"The pot and basket were exactly what I needed for our family fish fry. Both are good quality and should last a long time. Only have 1 complant the red handle cover on the basket does not hold up through all the heat that is transfered through the handle."

"This pot is big enough to cook for a large group. I did fried catfish for 30+ people and it held up great. After all that mess it was still easy to clean. The 12" pot fits nicely on the Cabelas burner. The 14" pot is a little to big for it. I would recommend the 12" pot for most burners and it is still big enough to handle most cooking jobs."

"I use this to help feed 5 to 7 hungry guys on our annual Canada trips. The 14" has plenty of room for a batch of cut walleye fillets, enough to get everyone started on the first go round. These guys love the batter fried fish I make with it and we clean up a pile of fish in no time. Good solid fryer, my only complaint is that the pan could drain just a little faster."

"This is a good product, but I would rather the basket be more mesh than steel with holes. I was deep fying hush puppies, and when you lift the basket to drain the grease, you automatically shake the basket. It holds grease longer than the mesh baskets and if you are not careful, you will spill the grease. A mesh basket would let the grease drain out more quickly. Still a good product and I will definitely use again along with the other one I have that has a mesh basket."

"well made fish fryer perfect for camping. only thing I wish it came with was a thermoniter and a lid, other wise just what I was looking for. make sure you get some of the cabela's fish fry coating to go with the fryer."

"For the last few years when I get back from my annual fishing trip to Canada we have a fish fry for the entire family . We have 5 children and a whole passel of grand kids so it takes a lot of fish to feed them. Last year I bought a pan and fry basket and I liked it so well that this year I got another one to speed up my cooking time . These pans and baskets make feeding a large group of people a snap . I couldnt be more pleased with the product . Thanks Cabelas ."

"I recently purchased a 14" fry pan w/ a basket....my whole reason for purchasing this product was the fact that when we go camping we go with many families....we each pick a meal or two to make for everyone....my husband and I also purchased the big grill (it's the one that has three huge burners, a grill box and we also bought the huge and I really mean huge griddle from cabela's (this too also deserves 5 stars....)well my husband is known for his breakfasts...so between the griddle and know this pan we do breakfast a couple of days for everyone.....this pan was purchased with the main idea of fried dough.....it works perfectly it's just the right height(I don't burn myself now before we only had the big stock pot that comes with the basket for turkey frying or steaming.....this pan is awesome....one of the other families saw it and asked to borrow it for their meal and they made homemade french fries and onion rings for their meal.....I would tell everyone you can't live without it.....it's the perfect size."
