"Great cover for duck blind, Best I have seen, if in weeds along marshes. I have had on my blind for about 5 weeks now it is holding up well. I will take down at end of season and put in garage. This should extend the life 3-5 seasons I have left up in past seems to get dryed out and weathered. only lasted 2 seasons."

Don't use it if livestock will be around,
January 11, 2009
By CowFeed
from Dallas TX

"I was pleased with the way the product looked out of the box, and it worked very well in terms of being easy to affix to the duck blind I was building...very easy to Zip-Tie onto just about anything. I built this awesome blind, but when I came back to hunt it the next time, it had been eaten by the cattle that were in the section.
Cattle will eat this. I basically just threw money away on this one. If you will be hunting somewhere where you know there will be no cattle or horses, then it would be great."

Grass not so natural,

"I bought the avery grass for my boat and was pleased till i mixed it with the cabelas northern flight grass. the grass is well made but tends to be more green and doesnt match my hunting grounds. I would recommend the cabelas grass, as it is more suitable for marsh, wetlands."

Avery Real Grass,
November 18, 2008
By Columbusbottoms

"The real grass did a great job of covering the blind. The biggest problem was with the cord on the real grass. It keep breaking. They should use a nylon cord at the top of the grass. It would also be nice if you could buy some 1 x 4 pieces to fill in around your blind and the shooting ports."

Not What Was Pictured,
January 9, 2008
By Duck3
from Henderson, KY
|
"Avery Real Grass Concealment certainly looked better in the magazine than it did in person. I feel the pictures are misleading because natural vegetation is shown woven in with the Avery Real Grass which results in more realistic camoflage than what the Real Grass is on its own. On the same token, Real Grass is tough and durable, standing up to all conditions imaginable. Let me also say that this is the first product I've received from Cabela's that I felt was substandard. Everything else I've ever ordered has been of first class quality."

ReI was looking for a materal Grass Blind Material,
November 21, 2006
By OldDuckHunter
from Central Ohio
|
"I was looking for a material that would provide a natural looking blind on a small lake in my hunting area. I saw the Real Grass product and thought it might fit the bill. I needed something that I could easily handle in the boat and could be configured to be set up in the dark and taken down easily.
The Real Grass product worked out very nicely. I used some of the plastic snow fence posts with the long spike on the end. I used tie wraps and attached the Real Grass material to five of these posts. I used camo paint and marked the grass to blend into the natural cover in the area where I was going to use the blind. I then rolled up the material and posts into a roll. I tied the roll with a bungee cord and placed it in the boat on top of my decoys.
At the site I was able take the roll and place it in a "U" shape for a single position blind. The posts spikes pushed into the soil and I was able to set up behind the "U" shape area created by the material and posts. While I was placing the decoys I looked at the blind and was very impressed on the concealment created by the Real Grass material. I decided right then and there that I was going to get some more and create a better cover for the boat.
Ended up having great day and brought home five birds. All of which came in on my decoys and they never saw me until it was too late.
Great product and it has stood up well being transported back and forth to several locations. I even placed it in the shallow water next to some natural cover and it worked out very well. It dried out and seems to be just fine.
The only minor negative comment I would have is the smell it has when first opened. The smell has reduced considerably but it is still there when I get behind it. I have considered using some buck sent to cover up the smell.
I would recommend its use to any one that needs some great natural looking cover for a blind and it works wonderful for rolling it out to cover up the boat to assist in its concealment.
Just and Old Man Duck Hunter's opinion."

Versitle and quick for base layer of camo,
November 20, 2006
By Crinkle
from Rhode Island
|
"Avery Real Grass Concealment is a versitle product that will serve well as a base layer of camo on blinds or boats. I have used it in Montana from river bottoms to ditches where we used the sheets as ground covers and wrapped around sticks. We roll up a sheet tight, with some extra paracord or twine to secure it to stickes or bushes, etc. Each sheet is cut to a very useful size and is particularly effective when you weave in natural material from the immediate area (grass, reeds, sticks). The weaved pattern allows for other materials to be easily stuck into the sheet or secured by snaking it in and out of the weave. I have also used it for covering large wood duck blinds in swamps in Rhode Island. It holds together well when cut in shapes and pieces and holds well with staples. Since the swamp grass is a redish-brown tint, a light spray of red-brown metal priming paint drakens and tones the mats just right. Again, natural materials weaved in and/or wired or tied to the front, give depth and a more natural appearance. Avery Real Grass is my first step in building great blinds, whether in minutes before the first flight in a quick set up, or weeks before the season for boat or blind."
