These low-profile duck boats are just the thing for mobility and concealment while waterfowl hunting. Because it takes only a few inches of water to float them, the smallest puddle is no longer safe for waterfowl. All have ample space for two men and a dog to fit comfortably. Constructed of tough, long-lasting fiberglass, they'll stand up to more abuse than you and Mother Nature can throw at them.
NOTE:
Each Carsten's Kayak is shipped direct from the manufacturer to any business or your local freight dock using Cabela's Express Shipping rate with no additional charges. Residential delivery can be arranged for an additional charge. Call 800-237-8888, ext. 113 for a residential delivery price quote.

By one3006from I am retired in Richmond & have hunted for years.

the puddler,December 29, 2007
By rileyjrfrom St. Amant, Louisiana
"i have seen this boat outside at cabelas in gonzales for a few weeks. well i bought one. guys this boat is a dream, it is a quiet son of a gun. i can sneak into a small canal on bayou francuois and jump at least 20 wood ducks. it is quiet, stable and a deadly boat to use for duck hunting, i pull a decoy sled behind this boat and it is a dream, i can bass fish from it, i stood up today to shoot and the boat never flipped on me, it was still movin forward and i stood up. i can check my catfish lines, minnow traps and paddle 4 miles to a pumping station and fish. this is a true louisiana duck boat for quiet waters to get away from all the loud noise of the motors and other people."

Pirogue......NOT Kayak,November 27, 2006
By DULA002from Oil City, Louisiana
"Hey guys, this is a Louisiana Pirogue not a kayak. Ya'll are finally getting to experiance something us Louisiana boys have known for hundreds of years. If you want to get somewhere in the back waters or swamps a Pirogue is the only way to go. Our coonass ancestors figured this out many moons ago and we have been using them here in the bayou's ever since. If anyone wants to access the places you thought were always impossible to get to without a long hike toting decoys, guns and gear then buy one of these. You will wonder why you haven't gotten one sooner. Good hunting.......or fishing......A duck hunter who wears out a pirogue about every 3 to 5 years......"

Going the extra step,November 15, 2006
By number13from Cape may, new jersey
"With publc land to hunt becoming so scarce. I try to go the extra step to find a spot were there is no one else. This place i'm talking about just happen to be an island in the middle of a large lake.I shopped around for the right boat for this task. and decided on the pintail.my first voyage with the pintail ihad a ladder stand a 50lb. bag of corn a large bag of apples tools a 250lb buddy and myself at 200lb the pintail not only handled the task she handled it with flying colors. Ihave a pick up with a six foot bed that she fits in with gate down and i can handle her with ease by myself. i've duck hunted out of her with my fast grass and she becomes invisible my friends are amazed at what this little boat can do.I have a feeling i'll be seeing the pintail in some of thier back yards next year."

Stable, Concealable, Easily Transported,November 7, 2006
By HuntsInTheMudfrom Bishop, CA
"I hunt at a reservior where there is little to no cover. Typically this body of water is drawn down in the fall, exposing vast, featureless mud flats where the birds feed and rest. The Carsten's Pintail not only safely carries me and my gear to my hunting spot, it also virtually disappears once I get there.
First, with a 500 pound weight capacity and a generous flat bottom hull design, the Pintail carries me and over 8 dozen duck and goose decoys (usually 6 dozen various duck decoys and 2 dozen magnum G&H honker shells). I have both poled this boat standing up and paddled it with a kayak paddle sitting down--it is quite simply the most stable craft for its size that I have ever handled.
Second, at only 12 inches high, it's lower profile than most field blinds. When grassed up and mudded-down the Pintail blends in almost perfectly with the mud and dead aquatic vegetation lying on the surface. If there is even the smallest amount of standing salt grass, it's virtually undetectable.
Third, this boat will get into the skinny water where other boats simply can't go. It will float in water that barely covers the toes of my waders--even when loaded down with 100+ pounds of decoys and hunting gear.
Finally, at just over 13ft in length and under 100 pounds in weight, I easily load this able craft in the back of my 1981 Toyota 4WD and transport it with the tailgate down and two sturdy straps keeping to keep it from bouncing around.
If you are a solo waterfowl hunter who values stability, high carry capacity, concealability and easy transportation, the Carsten's Pintail can not be beat."

The swamp less traveled,October 26, 2006
By Birdawgfrom Jackson, Tennessee
"Finding a good duck hole is not hard. Finding one that you have to yourself is. For the puddler it is all in a days work. A half dozen decoys and my Boykin along for the shoot, a limit of woodies is the norm. The boat is light enough to handle fully loaded by myself and easily rides in the bed of my pickup, no trailer needed. The puddler tracks well and only needs a few inches of water to ease to your favorite honeyhole. The boat performs well for jump shooting and will handle shallow bays for layout hunting as well. It comes with a carry handle forward and aft which serve well for quickly hiding the craft or short drags across beaver dams."
