"I use this stencil to paint my boat the stencil did a good job, but i think it should be made thicker or out of a different material. I found that toward the end of the job the paint was building up on the stencil and it made it difficult to use and smeared in some places. But, for the money i think it is well worth it. I would order 2 if I did it again. My boat came out great but could have been awsome if I would have split the boat in half using 2 stencils, 1 on each side."

Turned a Dud Dingy into a Duck Hunting Machine,January 3, 2009

"I bought the Parker Duck Boat Paint in Marsh Grass and these stencils and a couple of cans of flat spray paint. These stencils did the trick! Friends, if you can read, these things are NOT that hard to use... I was amazed by all the people who gave these low ratings because the stencils are rolled up... I used duct tape to hold them tightly in place for each "shot" and they worked just fine... Where there are ribs -- spray the blotchy black or gray pattern the directions suggest. I wish I had take pictures of the boat "before" as the "after" was a work of art -- just by following the directions. Coupla' things you should know -- First, start by spraying lightly and close in (the stencils are not that wide). Another thing is after overlapping as suggested, and after spraying a couple of colors (I used gray, tan, black and khaki green), the stencils get pretty thick with paint build up -- you will either have to clean, dry flat, both or get new ones. Plan on painting three layers -- the base background (no stencil), the black break up pattern, then finally the grass (or brush). Lastly, the stencil is only approx 24" wide, so you will be moving it a number of times. Bottom line = these stencils worked as advertised."

"My son and I just finished using these stencils to camo his 14-foot jon boat. The secret is to have a second person holding the stencil. Wear vinyl gloves, as you will get paint on your hands. We had the issue with the rib running down the side of the boat, but the pattern was still fairly sharp. For the money, this cannot be beat. Be sure to overlap the marsh grass stencil."

"I bought these stencils once before about 4 years ago and misplaced them So I ordered them again. THey were great the first time. I should have listen to the other reviews this time. THey come rolled up so tight they wont lay flat so they are not usable. I called cabelas they stated it is a new company that is making them "Testors" and they are having issues. They recommended I cut up poster board or cardboard to make a frame for the stencils. Did that and it still wont lay flat enough to use on my boat. I should have went stix river."

"I bought this stencil to do a mud boat. My boat is not totally flat. it has ribbs on the sides of the hull. This product is only good is you are using it for flat sides. It comes rolled up, so all it wants to do is curl which if doing on a flat boat it would still be hard to handle due it wanting to curl. I let it sit overnight with phone books on it and it still wanted to curl. It can be used but only on flat surface with lots of patience."
