Waterfowl will go out of their way to land in your spread when you use this decoy animator. Simply
attach three decoys and the push-button remote control gives you the power to make them dive, bob,
swim, shake, sit still or thrash water. Plus, the extra water motion generated by the prop will move
other decoys in the spread for extra realism. The three-duck system has a lightweight, tough,
glass-filled nylon frame and operates with the use of a 80-foot cable. It works with all types of decoys and
operates in any water depth. Controls let you operate it from your blind. Runs on any 12-volt power
source. A wireless remote option is also available so you can start and stop the Mallard Machine at your discretion.

Mallard Machine,May 28, 2009
By JQUESTfrom Duck Hunter Wilson NC
"I found this item to be a huge waste of money...A "jerk cord" will do a lot more for a lot less!!! Returned it with no problems. Another reason why I'm a "Cabelas Guy"."

Bought two!,December 1, 2008
By diesel97from Northern Virginia
"If there is no wind, I would not hunt without mine. I've had them both for over four years. Not only do they "activate" the spread, but they prevent icing and in shallow conditions they churn up the bottom which adds realism to the spread.
I run two mallard machines off of a deep cycle battery. One I operate from the remote button, the other I installed an inline pulse switch to keep it running on five second intervals for two seconds. The pulse switch is the way to go.
Had to add wire to both machines so I could keep the battery on shore. Also added an anchor to the cord a few feet from the motor.
Only gave it four stars because it could be a bit more heavily built. It is delicate and I've broken an arm off of mine twice."

Mallard Machine Three-Decoy System,October 22, 2008
By DecoyDanfrom San Francisco Bay Area
"The instructions that came with the system were inadequate. In the catalog it does not state that with the remote control machine, you must buy a battery and a floating battery box. There is no way to add an anchor and line to keep it permanently in place, in a rig of decoys."

Mallard Machine,September 2, 2008
By oldhickoryduckfrom Macon Co. Tenn
"We used the mallard machine in a flooded pothole with good success. It was left out the entire season and worked great. We even used it to clear 2 inch thick ice on a couple occasions. The only complaint I have is that the wiring plug leaked water into the motor. Take precautions to keep water out."

Mallard Machine Three-Decoy System,August 25, 2008
By BrownDawgfrom NE Alabama
"This is a nice addition to my decoy spread. I added additional power cord to lengthen the distance from the mallard machine and my boat. I also attached the remote control box to the outside end side of a Flambeau Mojo Storage Box and drilled a hole to run the battery terminals inside of the box. I have a small lawn tractor battery inside of the box as well as the broken down mallard machine and additional power cord all contained in a nice carrying box."

mallard machine,February 11, 2008
By reconboss
"I have seen the mallard machine before, but never used one for my self. It works! the sound of the water splashing brought in ducks that we might not have gotten in. and on those foggy mornings when you can hear the ducks but not see them, it brings them in to your decoys."

Looks great but not very mobile,February 1, 2008
By NthaDeeksfrom Alabama
"The mallard machine looks great when you're running it. It puts great motion on the water on those windless days or moments that you need something to make your deeks look more like ducks. I don't use it every hunt, but it is in the boat in case we need it. Biggest con is that it is heavy (deep cycle trolling motor battery needed for continuous running) to lug around."

Good Idea,January 8, 2008
By Weiserfrom Central Texas
"The machine works fine if you have at least 2 foot of water. It did cause some birds to cup up and land close by. There were a couple of drawbacks. I got the remote control with mine. I thought that the remote was an additional cost for additional equipment. That I would have the wire with the regular unit as a backup for the remote. This is not the case so if the remote malfunctions, you will need to have some additional wiring and a switch to operate the machine. The wire is very stiff and the wire memory from being coiled up caused the floating battery holder to constantly be pulled back close to the machine. I plan to use a fiberglas electric fence post tied to the wire to keep it straight and away from the machine. The plastic cord supplied with the unit to attach the decoy to the arm needs to be changed out with something more substantial. Mine was cut in two by the sharp edges in the slot of the arm on just my second use. With a few minor fixes, the concept and the results are great and I plan many years of additional success with the machine. Probably the biggest side benefit of the unit is the motion that you can put in the rest of the spread."

Don't waste your money on this,February 20, 2007
By Roondogfrom Los Banos, CA
"I have been duck hunting for over 20 years and this item did absolutely nothing to improve bringing the ducks end. We used this item about 4 times this season and so no positive result with our bird counts. It consumes a tremendous amount of battery power and is a waste of money. Invest your money in mojo or more decoys, defrinately not this item."

magnetic attraction,December 3, 2006
By wrongbuttonfrom Gaithersburg, Maryland
"This system works great. We have hunted a farm pond that is a great goose producer, but have had problems getting ducks to decoy. Since putting the Mallard Machine in our spread, we have almost doubled our duck kills. It works great on those calm mornings, putting movement throughout the entire spread of decoys. Wary ducks will often focus and lock on the MM and come right in. Thanks for a great product.
Dave G."

Mallard Magnet,November 22, 2006
By Bigguns1969from Ellensburg, Wa
"I purchased the Mallard Machine this year after seeing it in Cabela's for over a year. I wish now I had bought it when it first came out. Let's face it. The birds have gotten smarter over the years and they are going to keep getting smarter. If you are a serious bird hunter like I am then you need to have an edge. When you have a flock of Mallards overhead looking at your spread of decoys and just down the lake the next guy has his spead looking the same you need to make yours look safer. That is what the Mallard machine does best. It makes your spread of decoys look like a nice safe place to land. From overhead it looks like your spread is splashing and swimming around having a good old time. The set up is simple and the device itself is simple to use. I personally use the Cabela's 12 volt rechargable battery but any 12 volts source will work. Using this device this year has resulted in better shoots than ever before."

The Mallard Machine,November 21, 2006
By sosa12from London, KY
"The mallard machine is simply the best motion decoy system ever. The mallard machine offers so much more than all the other motion decoys and you can have 3 or 4 decoys thrashing the water at once which creates movement for the rest of your spread. The price comparision of the mallard machine to other motion decoys is incredible, because you have more than 1 decoy moving, its simple to setup and use, and many optional features which make it even more simple. The mallard machine has greatly improved my success as a begging waterfowler, and I wouldnt hit the ponds, rivers, or lakes without it."

mallard machine,November 21, 2006
By mopar58from Evansville, IN
"My buddy and I used the Mallard Machine on Early season here in Indiana and we hunted the Ohio River. We limited birds by 8:30 and we even killed two drake canvasbacks witch is really rare. We had a couple of Mojos out and that helped but they all wanted to land with the mallard machine, and i had it on the feeding frenzy. it also helped because we were hunting a pocket where the current could not get to it and the water was calm and it helped put movement in the decoys."

Mallard Machine,November 2, 2006
By harrymanracingfrom SLC Utah
"The Mallard Machine From Cabelas is the most productive decoys system that I have ever used In the past few years I have had a lot of calm days where the decoys are not moving Now I am excited to say that those days are over Just place the Mallard Machine in your hunting spot and it the swich and watch the water come to life, the Decoys drop and the water turns and Is good up to 50 yards What I do is place the Mallard Machine in the middle of my decoys spread next to Lucky Duck and around 50 to 80 floater this is the most productive hunt spread that I have ever hunted with The Mallard Machine is no JOKE! this is the reall deal! All you need to do is try it once and you will be hooked"
