"Since we normarlly shoot trap at 2 different clubs every Sunday, I wanted a soft shotgun case that would allow quick packing without breaking it down, and afford adequate protection for a trap gun. I looked at several alternatives, and settled on this one. It worked out perfect. It is equal to, or better, than similar cases selling for twice the price. The fact that I used Cabelas points made it even better. Buy this case and you won't be sorry."

Get This Instead of the Boyt,October 17, 2009

"I own a Boyt takedown case and this Cabelas shotgun case and the Cabelas case is just as nice at a lower price. On the Boyt case the rivets that secure the carry strap extend all the way through the interior lining of the case and can scratch your gun. The rivets do not penetrate through the interior lining on the Cabelas case. The Boyt case has a metal zipper and regardless of the zipper gaurd, it can scratch your gun. The Cabelas case has a plastic zipper and it pulls much easier than the Boyt zipper. The Boyt zipper takes some finesse to close in places."

"I have 3 of these Shotgun Cases and they serve the purpose well. If I could suggest anything as an improvement, I would have wished the canvas was heavier weight. I feel that heavier canvas would give more protection to the gun as well as protect against the elements. This canvas will NOT repell water in case your gun gets caught in the elements. Be mindful of that problem."
