"Good product for a reasonable price. Fairly lightweight with very solid construction made this case very durable, yet easy to transport and carry around the airport. The TSA locks made going through security a breeze. Fit my .30-06 with a scope perfectly. Snug fit with no movement."

Not Waterproof,October 8, 2009

"Just came back from a successful Minnesota moose hunt in the Boundry Waters but: rubber seal came loose and my pristine rifle and scope is wet and is in need of a major cleaning because of the water that saturated the case because of the rubber o-ring that didn't work. I liked the toughness of transport but what good is the gun case if its not waterproof! I called SKB...left a recording...and waiting for a call from them about a new o-ring and how to waterproof so this doesn't happen again!"

"Just back from the Canadian Artic where I was caribou hunting. This is the perfect rifle case for hard travel, by both air and land. The case itself is approved for air travel and had no problem with customs. It held my rifle and scope with a glove fit and there was no movement and worry about misalignment if dropped.
On the hunt, it was strapped down on front of an ATV and traveled 500 miles in some of the roughest terrain on earth. When needed it was easy to open to get to rifle.
I'm only sorry I didn't buy one before this, and I reccomend the SKB case to anyone, whether traveling long distances or not.

"The rifle case is made by SKB. That company also makes guitar cases and I've owned the guitar case for about 5 years and used it to ship my 50 year old classical guitar halfway across the country and back to play for a wedding. It was formed to protect the guitar from crushing or impact damage, and as I expected from my previous purchase the rifle case is also well designed. The rifle case protects the rifle and scope with egg-carton foam inside a hard plastic shell case with a TSA-approved lock so that it can pass quickly through the check in process. Also, the Cabella's price for the product seemed fair to me after looking around at competing products. The case should protect my rifle and scope and keep the aim point from changing from where I've zeroed it. The only suggestion I'd have for improvement is an inset area the size of a business card where one might put his name, address and telephone number. As it is, I took my business card that has my home address and my cell phone number and used clear strapping tape to stick it on the top side of the case so that it will be easy for the baggage management people to find me in the event the rifle gets in the baggage load for Cancun instead of Anchorage or Denver where I'd likely be heading with a rifle."

"I have not used the case yet, but have tested it on my rifle. The overall construction is solid and well done. The foam is not quite thick enough to hold my rifle "rock solid" in the case, so I added another layer making the rifle immovable, but the case a little harder to close. I then dropped and tossed the case to jiggle the gun, no movement in the new configuration. So far so good."

"I like the size and shape of the SKB Single Rifle Case,but ,the first thing you will have to do is supply yourself with an extra 1" of foam under the egg crate foam on each side to be able to hold your rifle secure. The latches work good, but I think I would tape them on a flight and take a few extra!"

"This case is perfect for the single scoped rifle. I like the way the 2 rifle case is made more than the single gun case. If the single gun case could be inlarged just enough to use the locks from the double gun case and extra ribs for re-enforcement you would have a winning combination. I would have liked to have included a hangun on my last hunt but was limited on room in the single gun case. I was concerned about the size of the double gun case on the bush flights and decided the single gun case would make the trip. It held up very well from MA to AK and back. No damage to the case or the rifle and scope."
