Gun Dog No Bark Collar,

"Well, I used the No Bark Collar on my 7 month old Black
Lab puppy(SKYLOR) .....she figured that if only barked once
she won't get zapped. Barking was restricted to one bark
here on there. Unfortunating, her sister(Gigi) another 7 month
lab that didn't bark.....played a bit too hard and somehow the
collar got destroyed as in chewed up into pieces---so $80+
dollars destroyed. Durability wise, not impressed---the pups
destroyed in very little time....what else do you have!!"

"I have been trying to deal with a growing barking problem in a neighborhood with intolerant neighbors. After numerous nasty phone messages, I decided to act and purchased a bark collar. I looked over all of the product reviews and noticed that the Cabela's Gun Dog GS-202R had one of the highest scores of any similar product. It seemed to me that the overall complaints were either the collar breaking loose or that it didn't work on larger dogs with coarse hair. I decided to go with this collar becasue I had no other choice and so far I have been very satisfied. The collar is small and will fall off easily if not kept tight. When the collar looses charge the barking picks up so routine charging is a must. My dog has developed an unusual barking style now but it is 100% better than what we were dealing with a few weeks back."

"We have a newfoundland and when he barks the windows rattle. With the collar he seems to have figured it out. He was trained to an electronic collar as a pup so that may help."

"So far, the collar has done nothing to stop my dog from barking. I have tried tightening it to the maximum around his neck. I have tried charging it several times but to no avail.I can see no reaction from the dog when he barks for a period of time."

"I tried this collar on my lab and she kept barking with no sign of any signal coming from the collar. I did all of the trouble shooting and everything checked out. I would not recommend this collar to anyone."

"I have had no luck with this collar. It works, I tried it on my fingers. By the time my Sheltie yaps long enough to get the voltage high enough to be uncomfortable, he has stopped on
his own- at least long enough for the collar to drop back down to a "reminder". I bought this because I had seen it on another dog and it worked for them. We will keep trying here.
As for not recommending it, I had previously based on someone elses success with it. Now I am not sure it is for all dogs."

"After following all directions and even changing to the longer prongs for longer haired dogs, I think our golden actually barks more. I would not recommend this product at all."

"I have an English Setter and he, being fairly hyper, had the tendency to bark to much for my wife. After just three uses of the bark collar he has drastically reduced his barking. I would highly recommend this product."

"I purchased the bark collar for our 4 month old German Shorthair but unfortunately it has not solved our barking problem. At first it scared him but now he could care less about it. I don't know if it's the dog's demeanor or if the collar needs to be stronger but he'll continue to bark even as the collar goes off, which you can see because the red light comes on. I would recommend this collar to someone with a smaller dog but not to someone who has a stubborn or large dog."

"The collar worked for the first few times but my 90 lb. lab can withstand the shock so I found it useless. I think it would be fine on a lot of dogs. When I tried the test, I found it uncomfortable to me but a dog like mine rather take the pain and let everyone know he is here."

"This collar was purchased for a nuisance barking Rhodesian Ridgeback. He weighs about 105lbs. The collar fits well and seems to be quite sturdy and well constructed. I purchased this collar becaue of reading how it works itself up in intensity until the dog stops barking and thought that sounded like a better way to go about it than just setting one and going with it. The collar will make him stop barking but the problem is that every time you recharge it the level of correction is reset to the lowest setting. It seems to take a day or so of barking for him to reach the threshold that causes him to stop barking. Unfortunateley, the rechargeable battery will only last for about 24 more hours after this before needing to be recharged. This in turn resets the level of correction to the lowest setting and we start all over again. I can see how this collar could work very well for some dogs that would correct more quickly and with less input, but for my dog this collar has been a disappointment. I will be purhcasing a more professional level collar with individiual settings that will hopefully have battery life a little longer than this model."

"I was not as pleased with this model, I liked the previous model. I liked the one that snapped shut with a plastic type snap. It seemed to stay on better for my lab."

"works very good. Seems set just right to beep before it zaps, then zaps only when the dog has barked too much. It does zap occasionaly when my other dog barks very neary by, but I can't hold that against this collar."

"This collar does not work at all. It was a huge waste of my money. I have a Tritronics Sport 50 which I use for hunting and it works great for that purpose. I should have stuck to a brand which I knew would work."
