Nice scabbard too small,January 7, 2008
By ElPescadorfrom Boulder, Colorado
"Well crafted scabbard with quality leather. I like that the saddle straps are not riveted on there like many others out there. The leather would have to break before this one's coming off your saddle in the brush. My major beef with the scabbard is that its too small. I have a Browning A-Bolt with a Leupold 40mm scope that is mounted with standard rings and bases. This is a very average rifle rig and this scabbard should fit but it just doesn't I had to shove pretty hard just to get it in part way...needless to say I had to return it and continue my search."

Securely held,November 15, 2007
By MagDudefrom Mountain Home, Idaho
"Good scabbard that holds most bolt action rifles securely, even when bouncing around on a horse. Scabbard held my Savage and Winchester rifles without a flaw, but my son's Savage did not fit as well. The bolt did not fit in the bolt slot, but the scabbard was flexible enough to still hold the rifle securely."

Scabbard,October 26, 2007
By Reefrunnerfrom Angleton, Texas
"Used this scabbard during my 2007 Colorado 2nd season hunt. 3 of us were using these scabbards with no complaints. The 24" barrelled rifles fit really well, the 26" was tight and sometimes hard to snap but eventually got a little easier the more it got used. Protected the rifles well. A couple of the guides made comments on how good they were."

bigger is better,October 16, 2007

"Fine craftsmanship. Quality leather. My 270 with a Leupold 3-9x40 with Ironsighter mounts, barely fits. You have to push to get it in. My 30-30 without a scope will fall out if you turn it upside down. Still, in all, it's the best scabbard I have found for the money."

Not Quite,December 12, 2006
By DWSherwoodfrom Mesa, AZ.
"I do feel this a quality made scabbard but I cannot get my browning 7mm mag with my leopold 4x14 50mm into the case. It really would'nt take much but a little more leather to fit this in. So I think the add needs to say no 50mm scopes or high base or rings on 40mm. Having said all this there are lots of 50mm out there these days can we get one that will fit the 50mm, I'll buy one or two."

Moto-Scabbard,November 21, 2006
By McSkinnerfrom Auburn, WA
"The Auburn Leather Fleece-Lined Scabbard worked like a champ. I purchased the scabbard for use on my motorcycle during deer hunting season. Any worries I had about the riflescope getting knocked around were quickly dispelled. This scabbard is tough, snug around your rifle and the leather straps make it easy to secure. Once secured, the scabbard didn't bounce or jar my rifle around. This scabbard performed as advertised."

Auburn Leather Fleece-Lined Scabbard,November 20, 2006
By ElkCampfrom Wheaton, IL
"The Auburn Leather Fleece-Lined Scabbard is a sturdy and well made scabbard. I am using a Ruger 77 7mm rifle with a Nikon 44mm scope. It is a little too snug for my liking. It would be perfect for a 40mm scope and below even though they say it will fit a 50mm rifle scope (alot depends on your mounts). It is a pretty good value compared to other scabbards that I looked at. I would recommend it but for a 40mm scope and below."

"Great scabbard. We used two of them hunting muleys this fall. The attach quickly to the saddle and were super easy to pull your rifle out of when we jumped the muleys. My boy and Shot two four pointers. I want another on for my younger son."
