Gunlock Scabbard,October 28, 2009
By Anonymousfrom Moody,Tx
"The gunlock scabbard worked well as it should. The scabbard could have been insulated more on the inside. Also the scabbard made quite a bit of noise when rubbing on brush, which I did not like at all.The cold weather seemed to make it more brittle. I used the scabbard to transfer my 270 in and upon arrival I had to resight in.The weapon was extremely bounced off.I do always check my weapon upon arrival but this was the only time my scope has needed resighting to this extreme. The fabrick on the scabbard was rubbed through in spots by the saddle by the end of my nine day hunt. All and all the scabbard done its job.If I could do it over I would buy a more expensive insulated scabbard."

Hunter Ruffstuff Gunlock Scabbard,September 16, 2009
By pete4570from Victoria/Australia
"I bought one one these scabbards years ago and it gave me unfaulting service till I lost it in the recent wildfires here in Australia. I had no hessitation in replacing it with another. Lightweight and durable also being thin and strong not too thick under my leg in the saddle. Easy to unclip and remove, recommended."

Does what you want,December 8, 2008
By Sandhiller1from Nebraska
"It will not fit 50mm scopes very well. It could us some more padding on the inside. It has a very tough exterior. For the money it works very good. Your gun is easily accessible. I will buy another one next year."

"Light weight and ample protection. The gun stock flap snap broke off the first year used but it isn't needed to hold the rifle in place. Good scabbard for the price"

"This is a nice item. A little stiff and kind of hard to get a gun with a scope and sling into. But it is holding up to the abuse that we have put it through."

no good for sno-go,February 12, 2008
By buskinfrom Naknek Alaska
"We use scabbards on snowmobiles in SW Alaska. It seemed good at first, but when I used the tie down on the nose and the tip of the scabbard bent over in securing it, the fabric tore, or actually broke, in subzero cold weather. I also wasnt able to secure the cover flap snap with the rifle in it even when it was inside and warm, but the rifle stayed in place bouncing across the tundra just fine regardless. My next one will be old fashioned leather."

Colorado Hunting On Horse Back,November 27, 2006
By ScottHuntsfrom Folsom, Ca
"Hello, I just wanted to share with you my experience with the Hunter Ruffstuff Gunlock Scabbard that I had purchased for my Elk Hunting trip on horse back in Colorado. My friends have been going for the last 7 years, so I was going off thier opinion. This was the Gun Scabbard they all use and said to get so I did. I have to tell you when I first received it I was thinking this thing isn't going to protect my gun very well. It's thin, really light weight and there's no cover on the end to protect my gun's butt stock. Well let me just say that the light weight made it great, I didn't even know it was under my leg on the horse. When we had to go through these willow like tree's that were so thick we had to get off and lead the horses through. My gun scabbard protected my gun just fine. My buddie who had a much thicker gun scabbard complained that it was uncomfortable under his leg, and when we went through the tree's his was almost torn off his horse. When you first get it, put your gun in it so it can start to form to it. I noticed mine slid in and out better after a few day's use. The snaps they use are great when your in a hurry to get your gun out also."

"Great product for the traveling hunter. Scabbard holds rifle securely AND is light weight and flexible to allow packing in duffel for travel. Highly recommended."
