"Since using the "Golden Rod" in my large gun safe, there has been no concerns or signs of any moisture that would damage the numerous long guns and pistols I have. I rest alot easier now that I know they are being protected. My safe (28 long gun safe, stand up) is in my basement and although mostly dry, the conditions allowed a small bit of rust to form on one of my collector guns. Having removed the rust and treated the barrel, there is no longer a concern of rust returning. The rod is warm to the touch almost like a curling iron but not hot enough to burn the skin. It maintains a warm and dry consistent temperature in the safe at all times. I have even moved valuable papers to the safe as well. Yes, I realize gun oweners should clean even the guns in safes each month but as we all know...life is very buusy and we don't always make time for the things we value most. Thank you Cabelas for a great price and quick delivery. I highly recommend this product to anyone who has even one gun to protect."

"I had another brand before and it quit in about a year, or so, I then bought one of the ones that you plug in and when it turns blue you put in your safe until It turns pink and then charge It up again, that was to often, So I bought the GOLDEN ROD, Well When I got it hooked up, I also used the electric one you have to rechage all the time and If I want both going I still have to charge the other over and over, does that mean the the Golden Rod Is not doing what it is supposed to do?"

"I have held off reviewing this product for a few months to actually see if this rod is really going to prevent condensation and my firearms from rusting. I am pleased to say, so far so good! The only thing I did differently is that I mounted the rod and brackets to a piece of 3/16" thick aluminum plate and placed this assembly inside in front of the safe door. Mounting it through the wood shelf and upholstery seemed way to permanent.
Excellent product, clean and professional looking piece of equipment to have in the safe AND it is cheap to run.
Having a Golden Rod that is rated too big for your safe only helps your situation. This is a situation that bigger is better."

"The product was easy to install, it came with all the mounting hardware needed. In addition, the plug was designed to be separated easily from the cord so you could feed it throught the back of the safe -(most safes come with a small hole to accommodate the dehumidifier cord) - and then reattached the plug without any special tools.
I had tried recharging dehumidifiers before and they always needed recharging, which always made me wonder if my firearms were truly protected. It took me no time at all to install the Golden Rod and it works perfectly, providing me peace of mind regarding my firearms being protected from any humidity that they may get exposed to."

"I received this product and immediately put it in my gun safe. I checked 2 days later and it was not working. With my multimeter and a razor knife, I made a better connection of the detachable plug. The contacts were not cutting thru the coating on the wire enough to make an electrical connection. Just have to be smarter than the product. It works great now that I have made the connection. I would recommend this to a friend."

"I have several Goldenrod's which have offered superb service to me. I used them this winter underneath the sinks in our Summer Home to prevent the pipes from freezing. Last year, they burst and I had to replace plumbing. This year the Goldenrod's prevented this from happening. Also, I have used one for many years in my gun cabinet to prevent moisture. Cabelas had the best price I was able to find."
