"Overall, this is an excellent, easy to use product. My only beef is that I wish there were more mounting options. Currently, this is a bottom mount only box. I'd like to see the ability to secure it on the rear and on the side, so I could mount it in a corner. Other than that, I find it does exactly what it advertises."

"Gunvault is a good safe for the price. The key pad is easy to use with a huge range of possible combinations. I can now have a loaded gun in my apartment without worrying about my kids. The small safe is perfect for my XD .45 with flashlight and I still have enough room for my families passport. The only problem I had was I ordered the cable for it and the holes are suppose to be easy to punch out. I had to drill mine. But overall a great product."

"SUPER__EXCEPT_ I purchased this item for my vehicle. Works great, you have to read the instructions to program it, but the big thing is, the rubber pad will melt off the vault. I had the vault positioned in my vehicle in a manner that the access pad was not on the top, but on the side. The heat in my vehicle melted the adhesive that holds the rubber pad on, which also holds the buttons for your "combination." This wouldn't be any problem at all if you keep where temps don't go over 100 in your car. Or if you keep it laying with the pad laying on the top. Am working on a way to keep it on regardless of temps. By the way i own two."

"I thought this was very easy to program with good features. I have the non deluxe model and for the money, it's well worth it if you have little ones. There is a tamper indicator which shows you if someone was trying to figure out the combo. easy to use and solid construction."

"The quality of the product was quite good. Had a bit of trouble getting the code to program. Had to pull the batteries a couple of times to reset. Once that was accomplished, it has worked fine. Would definitely recommend it."

"I love this safe, it works excellent for my purpose.
However, there is one minor thing that I would change. The control panel with all of the batteries and wires in it is attached to the top, inside of the safe. When I am putting my gun inside, I constantly bump it. I think it would work better on the bottom of the safe.
Other than that, it is a great product. Easy to program and use. Sturdy and dependable, keeping my gun readily available but not visible or accessible to curious children, etc."

"The Gun Vault is as advertised and depicted. I didn't have any issues with mounting or programming as others have mentioned. Although I have a 32-gun safe at my house, I am much more comfortable knowing that I have what I need at an arm's reach from my bed.
In keeping with tradition, Cabelas offered the product at a great price and it arrived exactly when they said it would. I really think that Cabelas is the benchmark in customer satisfaction.
Not only would I recommend it to a friend, but I bought one for my father and mounted it as a Christmas gift. Knowing that my father has the ability to defend himself and my mother in their castle allows me to sleep much better at night."

"This is the second Gun Vault I have purchased. I bought this one for a relative that recently bought a handgun. I've had mine over 10 years and never had a problem. I read some of the reviews that talked about battery issues but I have never had any. I open and close it at least twice a day and only replace the batteries about every one to two years."

"I purchased 2 of these at the same time... one for my office and one for my bedroom. They arrived on time and in good condition. One of the vaults works perfectly every time. The other hangs a bit from time to time. When this happens, I have to re-enter the code to open the door, sometimes up to three tried to get the door open. This is not often, but happens about 5-10% of the time now. I thought maybe it was the batteries, but found that it happens using the key as well... probably something sticking in the internal mechanism. It has gotten better over time, so I decided to keep it and save myself the trouble of an exchange.
The keypad is great. I can open the door in seconds, even in complete darkness. I keep a tactical flashlight inside the vault with my pistol, that way I can grab both at the same time if needed. The shelf is very useful, too. I keep my home defense revolver on one shelf and my carry pistol on the other shelf.
I would buy this product again. If both vaults would have worked perfectly out of the box every time, I would rate this product 5 stars."
