Worked well all season long,
October 8, 2009
By Kspoon

"This season has been my most successful season due to this call. I called in 7 branch bulls to within archery range and brought in a 5x6 bull that was hung up for almost 45 mins after I changed to this call from my reid calls. Great product for any level of elk hunter"

"Nice compact and quiet call to carry, but not easy to use, and the sounds I made, were not sounds of a cow Elk. Maybe with a lot more practice?"

cowgirl: good enough to fool the primates,
August 24, 2009
By arisaka99
from Longmont, CO
|
"Bought a cowgirl after several companions had one last season. After I bagged my elk, the herd scattered. A few minutes later, I thought one of my companions was coming over to me b/c I heard what I thought was his cowgirl. Turns out it was a real cow returning to the scene to find the herd. It had me fooled. Bonus points for being able to use it while having both hands on your rifle."

Finicky call,
March 22, 2008
By Steelheadhtr
from Bend, OR
|
"I use this call, among several others, during long 30 to 45 minute calling sessions. I’ve found that of all the calls I use, it collects moisture on the reed and stops working properly. And once it gets wet, it doesn’t dry out all morning until the day really warms up."

Primos Cow Girl Call,
March 21, 2008
By SanJuanElkhunter
from Lake Charles, LA.
|
"The cow girl elk call is one of the better sounding cow calls i have used with a good feel due to its rubber coating on the mouth piece. This should keep the call from slipping when it is used hands free at those critical moments. The tone is exceptionally easy to control with very few unwanted squeaks. I have given this product a rating of 4 stars only because i have not had a chance to put it to the test. This coming fall when the aspen are in their fall colors and the elk are bugling will be the time the real test begins."

Primos Cowgirl is my favorite,
October 8, 2007
By Downhill
|
"I elk hunt in Colorado or New Mexico. I have 5 or 6 non-diaphragm type cow calls. This is my favorite, because it's easy to blow and sounds good. I'm not as experienced as some, but I have about 30 elk hunting videos, and I can make cow calls with the Primos Cowgirl, that sound just like the hunters in the videos. Also; some of the pro hunters in my video collection use the Cowgirl. The price is modest. Try it for yourself."

"I knew what the DVD was since I had already seen it so I knew I would be satisfied. As for the Cow Girl Elk Call I was impressed most when I held a herd of seven elk for nearly 45 minutes before they walked off (not spooked at all)."

Cowgirl bite and blow call,
November 21, 2006
By mossyoak
from Southwest Colorado
|
"I purchased this new blow call from Cabelas before the fall elk season. I think it is Primos first bite and blow style. I was a bit hesitant with trying it because other bite and blow calls I have tried have sounded very "reedy" and not as realistic to me. The cowgirl seems to sound pretty good. The small size is a great advantage and the rubber end makes adjusting the tone simple. The call can easily be used one handed. One drawback, in my opinion, was the sensitivity of the call. Meaning, it was very easy to let out unintended noises just by breathing in between calls or when starting or ending a calling session. I guess with practice, and that awareness, it was easier to avoid. Since it is so sensitive it takes some practice to move between tones without biting too hard or too soft. After some practice though, I will still carry this one in the woods for its good tone and compact size. Great price too!"

Nice and loud,
November 20, 2006
By LannyMcB
from Winnipeg, Manitoba
|
"I out called the competion and called the 6x6 bull from over a mile to 50 yards. He was so wound up that he didn't move for about 30 minutes. I was pretty impressed by the cowgirls velocity and dynamic volume range. Although I needed the bull at 40 less yards I still enjoyed the rush of calling in a bull with the Primos cowgirl."
