Great feeder - good price,

"This is my third Cabela's feeder and I've had no problems with any of them so far. The first one was somewhat difficult to set up but by reading the directions several times and by trial and error the next two were simple. Throws the corn approx. 40 ft and goes off on time. Will buy more in the future. They are great for hanging feeders, the higher up in the tree the better."

Left open and exposed for 5 years,

"I purchased this feeder about 7 or 8 years ago, around 6 years ago, some squirells chewed my rope and my barrell hit the ground, it was the end of season and I meant to go back and get it, but going back happened yesterday at least 5 years after the fall. The cover has been off and the feeder has been on its side on the ground. It was froze up and the battery corroded. I bought a new batterie and sprayed some lubricant like wd-40 on the switch to turn the feeder off and on, with some pressure and spray the switch loosened and now switches. The turner was froze, I sprayed it and forced it to turn by hand and ran the test run on it. The lights lit up and after a few test run phases, the feeder started spinning on its own. This has been in the weather for the past 5 years and within 5 minutes and a new battery it works like new. This is a very good feeder in my opinion."

"Have purchased four of these feeders......all have lasted just over the 1 year warranty period. Either the motor or the electric components have died. Could not recommend to anyone that wants more service."

I'm easy to please but I expected more,

"I ordered 2 feeders and fit them on my tripod feeders, when it rains they fill with water. They did include a drain hole but you know water and electronics dont mix. The feeders were very undependable but looked great for a little while. I just hope I save someone from making the same mistake I did. I have had the feeders one year and am now in the market for 2 more."

"This feeder is a good buy. I have gone trough three so far, The moter stops turning after about 2 years. I do run it year around, so thats not bad in minnesota weather. All in all its a good bur if you are prepared to replace it every couple years."

"this thing is a peice of junk to hard to set up. some of the screws holding the slinger blade for the feeder were striped out. 100 miles back in the woods no parts .What if you dont have 24 hours to let it run before you start working for nasa to set it. the barrel is fine and the hanging system is good to, but this timer leaves somethin to be desired.Everone else makes a better timer. I put moultry timers under them works great suggest you do this or fix your timers."

Good for seasonal use.,

"I have been running this type of feeder unit for 5 years now and I am on my forth one at this time. Great unit and easy to set up. I run a feeder all year round and for some reason when the cold weather hits the unit just plain quits for good. It isnt the motor that quits it just dont run anymore. I keep using this unit for the reason is I dont have to drill new holes in the feeder to replace it with another brand and it is cheap and fast to replace."

"This feeder works great. I mounted it to a 5 gal. bucket, and put it in the back yard. The squirrels went grazy. The only thing I did to make it better was I made a funnel so the corn would not get trapped in the flat sides of the bottum of the bucket. Good wide spred. I well buy another before hunting season."

"I bought this feeder motor because it was on sale for a great price. At that price I figured it would be made of plastic and I had plans to construct a screen to keep the bushytails from knawing at it. When I opened the box I was amazed to find it was made of heavy gauge metal, well-designed, and solidly built. It is relatively quiet. I've tested it inside and it is easy to program and keeps good time. I'm very satisfied that it will do the job once I install it on my bucket and hang it in the woods. This is a good product for a reasonable price. And I know if anything goes wrong once I have it in the woods that Cabelas will back it up with good customer service."

"I bought two of these in 2000.One of them quit this year,or so I thought.I ordered two more kits. I took the old one home and took it apart, all it had was a loose wire on the bottom of the motor. I soldered it and it runs fine. I sure can't complain about these feeders. What I do is clear out the leaves under the feeder before I loosen the wing nuts,I always drop one."

"The feeder worked great from day one. Easy to use. Turn on and walk away. I wish did not throw the corn as far as it does. The feed area is a little to big for me. I would be nice to be able to adjust the throw of the feed."

". . . .and I've tried two other brands: mold tree and NOT-on-time products. Not impressed. I had to send four of those back just telling them to keep 'em. Their turn-around time is slow and by the time you might get one that works you've spend $60 in shipping.
I ordered two of these. One would not program and was sent back for replacement. It's replacement works fine. This is a very good product for the money AND especially for Cabela's conscientious turn-around time if you do have to send one back."

"I bought this feeder motor because it was on clearance and figured it would be worth a try.The first one I got wouldn't work,called cabelas and they stood behind it and sent me another no questions asked and told me to keep the first one for parts.the second one worked as it should and is now in the woods at my hunt camp.I got a rechargeable battery with it and it was done from the get go.I'm headed back to the camp this week after it has been out there and am anxious to see if it works still.I've purchased more expensive units and they worked fine.It boils done to you get what you pay for and in the future I won't try and go cheap."

"I order 2 of these and both had nuts loose inside from the circuit board. (poor assembly) The nuts were found clinging to the magnets in the motor assembly. Feeder works well but there are several design problems. The 3 wing nuts need to be replaced with one bottom nut. The panel for programing should made accessible without having to remove the cover."

"Rec'd the feeders just before opening day and hung them next to 2 old style feeders. Programming was simpler than I anticipated and they activated when anticipated. We need to modify the pails that they are attached to so that all of the corn can be used."
