Solid, but will give you a workout...,

"The hoist is solidly built, no doubts there.
It is greased chain though, so a little messy for setup, and clean up is needed for my application as I don't want the grease making it's way to the deer that it will be hoisting.
The chain used to move the hoist up and down is crazy long, I will be shortening it (somehow) to have it about 5-6 feet long looped rather than the 10 or so feet that it is now. You have to move a lot of chain to get the hoist to move, (20feet of chain moved to one foot of hoisting) so be ready for a workout, though there is little pressure in moving the chain."

"I've hunted nearly all my life and found a chain hoist is a most needed accesory. Saves the back, saves time and even a 7 year old can hoist a large deer up in the air with it. I won't go hunting unless I have one of these waiting in case I get my deer. I butcher my own and this makes it so easy to do it with. I recommend it too any hunter, even the disabled, for its pratical use. It's virtually effortless to use and not hard to hang it up in a tree or even in a garage. Life couldn't get much sweeter than with the help of a chain hoist! And they do work for many years...so it's economical on the budget! Great for lifting the lawn mower to do service on as well. Multiple uses!"

"I purchased the 1 ton model, an exceptional hoist. Sale price at the time, was the same as the 1/2 ton hoist. I've found it to be very well made. I'm able to do a heavy lift with ease. Well lubricated to protect and function flawlessly. I recommend this product to anyone needing lifting capability. Very useful for engine removal. Plenty of chain for good height clearance. The price for the value is excellent. Glad I purchased it!"

"These chain hoists are so much easier to use than the regular rope hoists that my wife can hang her own deer if I'm not home to help her. A person can easily lift a 250 pound deer solo, and you could also lift the maximum wieght of the hoist without to much effort. This will be the first of several of these hoists I will purchase because we usually have several deer hanging at once. I would highly recommend this to anyone who has to hoist anything."

"The 1/2 ton model is very easy to use.Altough it takes a little time to raise and lower, it functioned perfectly for us when the two of us skinned 4 deer during a cold, windy,snowy day. Money well spent. Very nice for the older hunter who has done his share of heavy lifting and now wants the 'chore' part to be a little easier."

"This hoist provides the utility that I was looking for at a resonable price. When I removed it from the box it was very oily, of which I spent some time wiping off the excess. However, I would rather have that than to have it delivered rusty. Over all I am very satisfied."

"I bought the 1/2 ton model to use at home to pickup front of zero-turn mower for easier cleaning and at the deer camp to raise deer on cleaning pole when alone. It does a good job on both and light enough to carry in truck tool box all the time."

"The hoist works very well and is a good value for the price. The only issue I had was the amount of grease used to pack the chain. I guess they were really concerned about rust. It was a bit messy to clean the chain."

"After the recent purchase of a zero turn lawn mower I needed a way to have access to the underside of the cutting deck in order to clean it off after cutting the lawn--,thus the purchase of the chain fall now I simply pull up under it and hook it up to the front of the mower and with in just a min or so I lift the mower up to about a 60 degree angle and clean off the bottom and I'm ready for the next time out.
The chain fall is very easy to use and makes lifting effortless I'm sixty years old an able to lift my 800 pound lawn mower with one hand I think there will be other uses for this in my garage in the other projects I'm doing."

"The chain hoists works great but I was upset to find that the chain hoist arrived rusted! I guess in an attempt to make it better it was soaked in oil and all the packing material was stuck to it. Other than being rusted it works like it should"
