buy LARGER size !!!!,November 14, 2009
By Hiltopr1from The Adirondacks, NY
"I purchased these to wear on my Cabela's Snowy Range 1200 boot, size 9. According to the size chart I should purchase the medium ones. Well I did and they came and didn't fit at all. The toe straps wouldn't go around the boot at all. I called Cabela's and spoke to a very helpful lady in customer service and she got a product specialist on the line with us. They could find nothing that says with a "large toed" or a "tall , heavy insulated" boot to get a larger size. The customer service rep agreed to pay the shipping costs back and to exhange them for the size large. The Stabilicers arrived and the large size does fit the boot fine. Be careful to go and order the next size up if you plan to use them on a "larger" boot. I was hoping to see a clarification in the products discription and sizing chart but there was done. Hope this will help you purchase the "correct" size. Now let's get some ice on The Lake to give them a good work out !!"

Perfect Solution to Global Climate Change,November 5, 2009
By KlondikeKidfrom Kenai Peninsula, Alaska
"Believe it or not southcentral Alaska sees a lot of mid winter warm weather events causing a lot of icy conditions. I learned of these from a fellow worker and have to say that when you strap on a pair of these its like driving a 6x6 with chains all around. The hollow cut screws bite like no other spike and slippage is non-existent. Great for pushing the snow scoop, shoveling and ice fishing. Built to last a lifetime with replaceable spikes/screws that only cost a few bucks. I recommend them to all my friends."

No Slipping,March 3, 2009
By Hotspur47from Northern New York
"These devices are lifesavers! Up here in the Adirondacks there is often black ice under the snow, and Stabilicers remove any fear of slipping. I tried the coil spring slip-on things but lost one when it slingshot-ed off my foot. These attach securely and grip tenaciously for confident walking on ice and packed snow."

Great product,February 24, 2009
By Amoxomfrom Woodbury, Minnesota
"Great product although the sizes run a little small. I only have size 11 insulated boots and it was a tight fit with the largest size. Once one though, these things really helped bite into the ice and gave me the ability to walk on glare ice up on the frozen edges of lake superior to take some photographs of the ice flows. Great product and they truly inspire confidence when out walk in icy conditions."

Stabilicers,February 9, 2009
By Railman87from Great Falls, MT
"Throw away your Yak-Traks, because these are the best thing you can buy for ice. Used them for an oil spill response drill on a frozen creek. Others were falling off and getting lost, but the stabilicers stayed in place and I only had to adjust them once. Allowed you to work without feeling like you were going to fall down at anytime. Highly recommended."

Complete Satisfaction!,January 26, 2009
By eviefrom Tunkhannock PA
"The Stabilicers were the third attempt I had made in trying to find something that would work for me on ice and hard packed snow. Bingo! At first I balked at the price, but they are truly worth their weight in gold. I am a daily hiker with dogs in the woods and these Stabilicers are keeping me on my feet over icy trails. I put them on my boots a month ago and I haven't taken them off since. They outperform anything else I have tried by a mile!"

excellent but beware of sizes,November 26, 2008
By alphadog1from Washington, NH
"excellent product, but their size chart is off. I bought the XL size which should fit a size 12. Extremely tight fit on a worn size 12 work type boot, and on my sorel type boots? No way. If you're a 12, buy the XXL."

So far, OK,November 18, 2008
By icefish247from Frozen Lake, NY
"I have used these for a few years now for ice fishing, and they are the BEST for traction on ice and snow. The cleats BITE solidly into the ice, and the tread gives great traction in packed snow. Between the tread and cleats they afford the best traction of any ice creeper I have tried.
They are not perfect however. The cleats tend to pull out when walking on rocks or pavement, and the cleats do wear down. After two full ice seasons, I was missing 3 cleats on each pair. When I replaced the cleats, I used thread locker, and no cleats pulled out during the next ice season.
The other issue is the fitting. They undersized these significantly, as I purchased the large for #12 upland hiking boots that I use, and they are too small for them. To keep them from coming loose, one has to make sure the straps are on TIGHT.
All things considered, these cleats are the most functional cleats for winter and ice fishing use, but of course are inperfect like everything else."

Stabilizers are great,March 7, 2008
By shortsnort
"I have given the Stabilizers a five star rating. They are truly life savers. Working in a remote village in Alaska, ice, snow, and freezing temperatures and hundred mile an hour winds are, more often than not, a daily occurrence. Having to walk to and from work is a fete in itself on a good day and I have used other products that just didn't work. After falling a couple of times, and enduring painful bruising, I found these wonderful additions to my wardrobe and find my feet are firmly planted on any surface. Thank you...."

Worth trying.,February 16, 2008
By 4MLRfrom Dayton, Ohio
"The quality of the product is very good. The sole is sturdy and nylon straps appear to be well constructed and firmly attached. I use these to shovel snow and ice from a steep concrete driveway and they have given me good traction. On solid ice on a slope, you still have to be careful because there still can be some slippage. The only reason I would not give them a 5 star is because the very front boot strap on the tip is not adjustable. The horizontal strap is adjustable and you can tighten it down around the boot. However, if you have a shorter boot than the sole, the tip strap is loose and can cause some forward sliding. The tip strap is sewn together and does not permit adjustment. This can be problematic on inclines. Not quite sure why it was not designed to be adjustable like the other straps, but I can live with it."

Ice and walking,February 11, 2008
By EddieD125from Eastern Oregon.
"I purchased these stabilizers, and they worked outstanding, I recommend these because they have more bite then the more economical versions. Pinching pennies is not worth the risk of falling. They are holding up great with the 5 mile walks a day we do..... Big A+++++ for these neck savers. :)"

Stabilicers in the Year of Global Warming,February 8, 2008
By Tanglemere47from Thurston, NY
"Living off a private dirt road,we are very concerned with ice. In previous years we had used YakTrax, which were OK but had a tendency to slip off. The Stabilicers are definitely a better generation of ice wear. We have had plenty of ice this winter (thanks to global warming?) so our Stabilicers have gotten lots of use. We especially like how easy it is to put them on and off. They feel very secure and stable (hence the name?)."
