Cabela's Polartec® 300 Weight 16" Sock,October 16, 2009
By Bobw1Ofrom St. Louis, MO
"I needed to replace a favorite pair of old Polarted socks. These are the closest I could find as a replacement. The flat bottom design is comfortable and works well. My original socks had no elastic at the top which I viewed as a plus. These have elastic at the top but it is not so tight as to present a problem. I have worn them 4 times under fishing waiders and I am thoroughly satisfyed with them."

"Very warm outdoors and good to lounge around in too. A little bulky on this heavy duty, so plan to use with footwear of adequate size to account for that."

Soft and Warm,March 2, 2009
By LabMan5099from Carbondale, IL
"During the cold, snow event we just had, I was fantasizing about a sock constructed of fleece and, voila, Cabela's catalog answered my wish. These are nice fitting, soft and very warm. I also ordered a conventional pair of boot socks by Carhart, but really prefer these for the fit and feel. I will be ordering a couple more. I hate cold weather but these make it more bearable."

Great warmth in frigid temperatures,February 24, 2009
By Bacbayroamerfrom Hammonton , New Jersey
"I bought one pair to tryout during this hunting season. My feet are always cold damp and my toes start hurting. I have bought and tried over 20 pair of socks for hunting and this is really the best pair to date. I bought my brother in law a pair and he wears by them, he even took them sking with him this year.

Warm , but too fragile for hunting,January 25, 2009
By Slapshotfrom Bel Air , MD
"Probably the warmest sock I've worn for long sits in the winter woods .However , after 4 uses seams were ripping , so my search for a warm sock that won't fall apart continues . I've also used polartech stretch fit liner gloves and the seams rip also . Of course Cabelas stood behind the products , but if they can't be made durable Cabela's should probably discontinue these items . If I was wealthy I would stick with these warm products and treat them as a disposable item after they started falling apart ."

polartech 300 socks,January 6, 2009
By Preston1from Hickory, NC
"I purchased these socks for fly-fishing here in NC, but I 've not had an oppertunity to do that. I have used them during hunting season under my rubber boots. If they perform as well in a river as they did when I was hunting then I will give them 5 stars."

Great Boot Socks,January 2, 2009
By winterfunfrom Kenai Peninsula, Alaska
"Warm, very comfortable, with no irritating seams, and stay up well. I wash them in cold water, air dry them mostly and then use dryer for approximately fifteen minutes to finish drying. No problem with shrinkage. Overall quality very good. Warmth is important when you live in Alaska. Today's temperature is -27°, and that is with the sun shinning."

Polartec 300 weight 16" Socks,December 30, 2008
By keithssecondwife
"I bought these socks for my patient who stays in a chair all day and has chronically cold feet. They couldn't have been thicker and more comfy. Problem is, after wearing them for several hours his feet were still ice cold. Don't know if it's his lack of mobility or if they just don't do the trick."

Winter in Oregon,December 26, 2008
By SARtracker2from Pendleton, Oregon
"I live in Oregon and I'm part of a Search & Rescue so i'm always looking for the latest and greatest products to keep me warm and dry, because my life and other lives depend on it. So i ordered 3 pair of these socks and have used them every day for 3 weeks straight. They are lite weight and keep my feet warm and dry and are a good sock. But i'm not happy with the stiching, one pair has ripped the full length on the seam. I contacted cabelas and they replaced the pair free of charge. I like the socks just not happy with durability."

"I bought 2 pairs of the extremely heavy socks to go deer hunting with. I spend long days in the field, and the socks do a wonderful job at keeping your feet warm, even in the coldest weather."

Great fit,December 6, 2008
By Shinneyfrom Marion, IN.
"This pair of socks fit great and snug on my feet. They never slide down on long hike to my tree stand. My feet gets cold fast all the time, but when I recieved these socks and wore them they kept my feet very warm for hours. When they are worn out, I will get another pair. The price is good for what they do and that is keeping the feet warm."

Be careful,November 23, 2008
By flemingrfrom Southeast, PA
"These socks are warm, I don't know if they are truly any warmer than wool socks however. I wore my pair once on an early season scouting trip, so lots of walking. The seam along the heal ripped out when I took them off that evening. Polartec is a great product, but difficult to hold a high wear seam. My guess is that with a still hunting situation they would do fine. Cabela's as always stands behind their products and has sent me a new pair. I'll try them again."

fuzzy-warm socks,September 22, 2008
By gar5963from Fukuoka City, Japan
"These socks are great for cold weather. Even without shoes, on cold wooden floors, when sitting quietly for more than 2 hours at a time, my feet stay nice and warm. But I only get about four winters out of them (I think that`s good). My only concern is that the elastic at the top and the top seam don`t have the same stretch-ability. I don*t know if it could be fixed, but it would get another star from me."
