"The boots are great. They fit right, are comfortable, and provide solid grip, but I was a bit displeased by their performance in the snow. After about 2 hours use, they were pretty wet, and this was only from exterior exposure to the snow. I was only displeased as I expected a better performance from an item labeled as "GoreTex." Otherwise these boots are great."

"I'm sorry to see these boots go to close-out! Have worn this style every day for the past 5 years in landscaping and irrigation. They are everything they are purported to be... waterproof and durable if one performs basic cleaning and oiling maintenance.
I'm into my third pair and just bought two to put aside when #3 goes away. I have a narrow (B width) foot and these boots 'fit' with good arch support / shank that holds up in day to day use. The demands of hiking and hunting are second class to what I put these boots through daily. Yes, I use them for bow hunting.
Cabelas needs to continue to offer this boot. Consider a similar style with a steel toe."

"I received mine a couple days ago.
They are perfect in width for the foot, way too wide at the heel and have a better fit for those with a thicker (depth) foot.
After wearing for a couple hours, I bought an insole, installed and that took up a lot of the slop, and with the insole's heel cup, better-secured my heel.
Deciding to keep them as a dog-walker, last night I thought I'd try them fishing at the beach where the rocks were wet but not radical. I'll only do that again in the summer when the rocks are dry. Very poor wet grip sole.
But, after a full day at the office, finally finding the correct adjustment for the tongue, and a second full day at the office... I'm happy with them as an urban hiker, dog-walker. I hoped the sole would have at least some wet-rock traction, as the shoes they're replacing were somewhat better in that regard. On soft-wet trails, they will be fine.
They are comfortable, good foot-cushioning with the insole, very nicely turned-out, look good and seem very well made. I am satisfied they will last a long while.
My fit knocks a star, and the sole probably ought to knock 2 stars, but they are at this price a good city trail boot.

"My first pair of these boots lasted several years. My job requires that my feet are in and out of water on a daily basis. These boots are 100% waterproof all the time--year in and year out! They were comfortable out of the box. I have worn them in all seasons--work or play--and they have not let me down. When it came time to buy another pair of boots, I shopped around--even bought a different brand from another store. I had to return them because they didn't hold up to my standards. So, naturally, I came back to these boots and am completely satisfied, again. When you compare the price and the quality, there is no reason to buy anything else."

"I have 60 year old feet and wear orthopedic inserts in my boots. Being a landscape contractor, I'm up and down ladders, and pushing, pulling or following equipment all day. I took the standard insoles out and put in mine, and they fit and felt like I'd been wearing them for months already. There was NO break-in period to go through. Secondly, the lugs of the sole are far enough apart that they don't hold mud (which, with other lug sole boots, has to be washed out before going into the house). Finally, I hose the outside of the boots off every day when I get home to remove dirt and dust, and my feet are still dry when I take the boots off. I am VERY pleased with these boots."

"I live in the mountains and I find that once I put them on, they don't come off. They are water proof and comfortable. I never wore out my first pair, I gave them to someone that needed them. I hiked all of Georgia (AT) and about 120 miles of NC in my first pair. My second pair is three years old (moderate use) and I have a brand new set of these hikers in my locker since 2005 that I have not had to pull out yet. I am 66 now, those should do it plus one more pair!"

"I am 50 and these are the best boots I have ever owned in my life! I did not have to break them in at all. Ready to hike in directly from the box. And unlike my past pair (which I loved dearly) my feet stay dry due to the Gore-Tex, I suppose. And my feet sweat up a storm. Since I have never paid top dollar for a pair of boots, I'm not going to rate this pair as excellent -- I haven't experienced custom made boots. But as I said, they're the best I have owned."
