Very nice stock and fore end,February 23, 2010

"The original fore end on my old 11-87 split, so I decided to put the synthetic fore end AND stock on it. I must admit that I am very impressed with the way that old gun looks, feels (lighter), and handles. The only reason I don't give it a five-star rating is that I had to do some judicious sanding on the stock to make it fit wood-to-metal (MAKE SURE YOU TAKE OUT THE STOCK BEARING PLATE AT THE REAR END OF THE RECEIVER!! YOU DON'T USE IT WITH THE REPLACEMENT STOCK), and I had to drill my own hole to put the sling stud in the stock."

"My "Realtree Hardwoods" stock/forend kit was only HALF RIGHT. The forend was Realtree, but the stock was MOSSY OAK BREAKUP...?! Now I have to return it 4 days before deer season! Eventually this may be a good product, but getting it right has been a struggle. Buy it in the store where you can SEE it first."

"This replacement stock & forend kit is a great value. The only problem was that I had to sand the neck of the stock to take off 1/8" where it butts up to the metal in order to eliminat a gap on my 11-87. I would recommend this product."

"I recently purchased this synthetic stock for my 870. It fit the gun fine, the only thing is that the stock doesnt quite fit the recoil pads perfactly. There is always a piece hanging over. It also doesnt fit perfactly up to the action part of the gun. The paint scratches off a little easier, but otherwise, i like it. It's what i needed."

"This is not a bad product if you are looking for a replacement stock that is economical. The fit at the neck of the butt stock to the reciever is really the only thing that I was not totally happy with. It's a little on the sloppy side, but not terrible. I also did not like the foam rubber butt pad. If you had wood on your gun and a plastic butt plate, the foam rubber pad changes the way your gun sits at the shoulder which changes the way you shoot, or it did for me anyway. All in all it is a pretty good product. It's affordable, it does look decent overall and I like the camo effect. this product is also weather resistant which is a big plus."

"Overall the synthetic stock and forend replacements are a good deal. They are much lighter than my old wood stocks and look great too. The realtree hardwoods camo is a great pattern that works well in many enviornments. However, when I first recieved them I did have some trouble with the forend rubbing along the barrel when it was pumped, but with some slight adjustments it now works smoothly."
