Replacing wood 11-87 stock with synthetic,November 18, 2009

"It was very easy to do and the instructions were very clear. I did have to work a little to get the regular washer out of the wood stock. A larger than normal screwdriver is required and if you have a wood stock there is a metal piece between the stock and the receiver that has to be removed. The fit was perfect and it makes the gun weatherproof for Louisiana marsh hunting."

Converted my 870 to a junior,September 30, 2009

"After much research and consideration about purchasing a youth gun for my son - I learned that the 870 body could accept both full size and youth stock. I purchased the 870 youth synthetic to replace the original wood stock on my 10 year old 870 magnum. The result is a "like new" shotgun sized for my 12 year old ... and the best part is that I can always go back to the full size stock.
This is a good quality product and more then meets my expectation. I knocked it down one star, because the directions where not as clear as I would hope. Specifically, with respect to replacing the foregrip. I almost left the original wood grip on it ... but eventually figured it out. This is a great alternative to buying a new gun for your children."

"I just picked up this today at our local Cabela's. The fit was perfect. Trimming the stock shouldn't be required as there is a plate at the base of the action that must be removed before installing the new synthetic stock. If it isn't removed, as noted in the directions, the stock will look like it needs trimming. The gun looks great now. I never planned on selling it, but now I definitely am keeping it. Great product and reasonably priced. Same price as one of the after-market ones too."

"Had to purchase a huge screw driver to handle stock fixing bolt, had to cut about 1/8''+ off end of stock that fits into action end of shotgun to make a better fit. Very do-able."

"This is the second stock set I have purchased from Cabela's in the last 10 years and I loved the first one. I never had a problem with it. This past experience, prompted me to use the same product. "This was a great purchase for my good'ol 870 12 guage! The stock is a great value for the buck! It also is durable as far as preserving the look of the gun as well. No more dings and scratches on the orginal wood stock. Not only did the stock upgrage the looks of my shotgun-it consisderly lightened the shotguns overall weight as a whole. We all know the cold mornings out walking the fields awaiting for a phesant to pop-up-carring around a cold piece of steel and wood and how heavy it can be after a few hours. The only short fall is the kick of the 12 guage is much stronger-so after a day of trap or skeet practice you might be a little sore...

"After purchasing and putting on my new Remington Synthetic stock on my Remington 870 12ga. It appears as if it were a new gun. I was going to trade it in before, but Remington Synthetic Stocks made me change my mind. It only cost half to apply the new stock, rather than trading. Very fine craftsmanship was used in manufacturing the stock with quality materials. Price wise very affordable. Excellent Buy!"
