"Truly a very useful system for cleaning rifles and handguns. Be aware that this is a "system" and uses special slotted patches. While one could use a knife and slot your own patches, cost savings would be minimal. The convenience of using their patches is good, however getting six cleaning sites out of one patch is not practical. I get two-four, but that is fine for me."

"When hunting remote locations or simply a mile or two from your vehicle, it's important to carry some type of gun care kit.
On a recent trip to Wyoming I managed to get some mud in the muzzle break and tip of my barrel while hiking into a steep ravine. Without this handy packable kit it would have easily ruined the rest of that days hunt, I was 4hrs round trip to the cabin and back to my hunting location.
With the Cabelas (OTIS) kit I was able to thoroughly clean my rifle in 10 minutes and was back hunting. This is the coolest most packable kit I've ever found. It will always be part of my hunting pack and suggest you make it part of yours.

"Got tired of breaking the flimsy rods in most cleaning kits. This is a well supplied kit that shoud last a lifetime. I had plenty of brushes from all the other kits that I broke the rods. The reason for 4 stars is that if you get a chamber brush stuck there is not a good way to get it out other than unscrewing the cable and using several of your broken rods to un-jam it. Don't pull the chamber brushes,(not bore brush), too tightly."

"Ok I used this straight out of package to clean my 7.62/5.56 rifles. Great product - video explains usage. I was able to easily add several items from other kits I had to the pouch. One down side - if you turn the patch as described to clean the bore then pull up into the barrel the patch and cleaning plug can become lodged in a manner that no amount of pulling will get it to come through. Because this is the case you end up needing a rod to clear it since the cable can not be used to push. This can be avoided by careful usage (don't give it a hard yank - just a steady pull - stop if it appears to tightening too much) Overall great product to carry on your belt and be able to clean all of your guns."

"This item is perfect for cleaning guns out in the feild or at the range. Wish that it came with the brass scraper as well as an inventory sheet. This could have helped when going through it before putting it in the pack. Do note that if one looks at the 12 gauge patch holder there are no threads on the outside and inside of it, sort of. If one looks inside of the patch holder the threads are on the inner screw nested inside the main shaft."

"I had high hopes for this little kit, but found it is not as great as it looks. I think a full size kit is better. The slots for the brushes are annoying - you constantly stick fingers on the wire brushes putting them in and out. Invest in a real cleaning kit the first time."
