Not Impressed,November 6, 2009
By Roger543889
"I read a lot of good reviews about this boot but I don't think they are accurate. A very ackward fitting boot and uncomfortable to walk in. They also started falling apart after two weeks and if you walk on a wet surface it is like being on ice. They are waterproof though, thats only thing thing they have going for them."

"I do carpentry and I managed to put a hole in these boots doing nothing out of the ordinary in about a month. They are comfortable but the leather (maybe pigskin) did not seem very durable."

Sometimes you get more than you paid for,December 4, 2008
By Ubootsailorfrom Joliet, IL
"I wear out a lot of boots in the course of my job. Both from actual work and also from "workout" lunchtime walks. I have purchased American made boots for twice the cost of the Cabela's Woodsman dry-plus. I was always satisfied with the more costlier boot. That said, I have just broken in my third pair of the Cabela's boots.
I agree with previous reviews with respect to the tongue of the boot in some cases causing uncomfortable chafing. My last 2 pairs caused this problem until I had them broken in. Being of the old school, I just accepted this as part of the process. This third pair, being also a size bigger, is a whole lot more comfortable.
My 2 previous pairs were waterproof. Period. Rain, snow, slush, mud--you name it, I never felt wet. And except in extreme cold weather where I was in an inactive mode, the unisulated boots more than kept my feet warm. The wear was as good if not better than the more expensive boots I had worn in the past.
Once broken in, these are some of the most comfortable and reliable work boots that I have ever worn. An exceptional value. I recommend these to anyone regardless of budget considersations."

Work Boots,July 30, 2008
By davecityfrom Ohio
"I have had these boots for 2 years now and I have gone hunting in them, i have for the past 2 months been working for the city and been in 4-5 inches of water and the boots have not leaked they are rugged and sterdy and still have a lot of tread and will probably last me another 2 years if not 3 or 4. Great pair of boots would definatly buy again. Good for any job and are pretty comfortable."

Great Boots,May 5, 2008
By BobinWichitafrom Wichita Kansas
"I'm purchasing my second pair. These work great for all my outdoor activities. I buy these because they do not have the quick fasten loops which would scratch my motorcycle. Water proofing works great and the steel toe adds great protection. Hate to see the price hike but they are worth it."

not a good fit,February 20, 2008
By RileyofCTfrom East Granby, CT
"I bought these off the website so I didn't have a chance to try them on before buying. What I found was that the tongue on this boot has to big which allowed it to bunch up around the ankle... making for an uncomfrotable fit. I returned these boots."

They are a good boot but...,January 16, 2008
By Jackjohnfrom Kingsford, MI
"I do like the boots and this is the second pair I have owned. However Cabela's could make two improvements: 1. Put a finger strap on the back of the boot to help slide on. 2. Make the boot in more widths than just medium, a wide would be great. Overall, the boots are real comfortable and I wear them all day in my line of work. Would I buy them again? The answer is yes."

heavy duty,September 24, 2007
By motolittlefrom CA
"I purchased these boots along with another pair of boots from Cabela's. These boots are made wery well and seem to be quite sturdy. Some have complained about the laces having holes instead of quick loops all the way up but this has not seemed to be a problem for me. The waterproofing is quite nice and did not let my feet get wet even down in a wet mine standing in several inches of water continuously. i work in a machine shop and use them sometimes there but these were mainly purchased to be my construction jobs boots and camping, working, hiking, hunting, wheeling, yardwork, whatever boots. they seem like they will do all of those with great ease. However there are two small complaints. one is more serious than the other. Complaint one is that they have taken a long time to break in and still are not very comfortable in that they feel stiff and the tounge flaps (part under the laces that makes the boot waterproof) take a while to flatten down so that they don't feel like a small stone is stuck on either side of you ankle. Like i said though... this does not seem to be the main problem and will break in with time and heavy use. The main problem and complaint is that the steel toe box is a little on the small side and most of the time i wear them i can feel my toes rubbing on the steel sides and top. this does not seem to hurt anything but gets annoying. Some have said that after time the lining wears out around the steel and i can definitely see why. but trust me... i have worn these boots quite a bit (non-stop for over 15 hours in one day and on one trip) and they have worked nicely. Like i said earlier... these boots would be absolutely amazing if just they were a little more comfortable and the toe box had a little more room. My recomendation is that these boots will serve you long and hard once you break them in well and your foot becomes used to the toe box. thanks Cabelas for your service and awesome products!!!"

Dry-Plus Uninsulated Steel-Toe Woodsman,August 14, 2007
By Trupafrom Binghamton, NY
"Excellent Boot for the money--very light and comforable for a steel toe boot--warm enough uninsulated to wear for active winter chores--Dry-Plus waterproofing membrane holds up well for ~2-3 years."
