"I bought the jacket because I like the style and the color (black) which it was available in. I have Carhart jeans, shirts and other jackets and coveralls. I have had them for quite a few years now. They last a long time. Very pleased with the latest jacket because it's perfect for mild winter days, 30 - 40 deg F. I also have the artic ones for the real cold days. They keep you warm."

"I purchased my Carhartt Duck Detroit Jacket online from Cabela's. It arrived on time through UPS and I have the following remarks: 1. Cabela's sizing chart was dead on for matching size... good fit
2. The corduroy collar was a bit stiff but after 1 wash and low tumble dry it softend up.
3. The jacket zipper was stiff to pull in either direction at first. I applied a little dry soap on the zipper teeth to lubricated it and it zips great now.
It is a great jacket for the cost. I have previously owned a carharrt duck jacket and this Detroit jacket looks to be another Carharrt legend."

"This jacket is exactly the rugged and tough garment I was looking for to handle anything from working outdoors to fishing to watching my Daughter's soccer games. It has, in the short time I have owned it, already proven itself resistant to rain and wind and numerous attacks from berry brambles and the claws of my playful dogs. I highly recommend it as an excellent all around jacket. I couldn't beat the quality for the low price I paid any place else but here at Cabela's. And with Cabela's easy online size chart, I was guaranteed to get an exact fit. I also received it within five days of ordering it online. Fast!

"Haven't had the jacket too long so I can't say how it will fair long term, however I am using the jacket for general knocking around and whilst exercising the dogs and found it to be a good quality hard wearing jacket for both work and casual use. It is not designed to be waterproof but I found it to be pretty good in light rain showers which as I am living in Ireland is almost a neccesity! The jacket initially was a little "stiff" when new and the collar tended to rub and iritate my neck whist driving. The design of the jacket lining will not to be everyone taste as it looks a bit like a pair of your dads old pajamas on a bad day but overall an excellent jacket for the price."

"My husband loved this jacket! He wanted one in the traditional Carhartt color but didn't want the heavy lining as he is very warm even in cold weather. This jacket fit the bill perfectly, it fits great and is just the right weight without being too bulky or warm. Also it seems to be dirt proof, he leaned against a creosote soaked fence and then was able to just brush most of the black away. Also this jacket was a great price, much cheaper than we found anywhere else."

"I really like the jacket. I work as a mechanic and needed a coat to wear while working in the cold garage. It is heavy enough for warmth but not too heavy to make me hot. My only concern with the jacket are the sleeves. I have long ams and it is still a litle long in the sleeves but OK for me. If you have regular length arms, I think the sleeves would be too long. I also took a little ribbing from other mechanics about the lining of the coat. It is a weird plaid. However, overall, I really like it and once it was broken in, I have worn it almost everyday."
