Not moisture wicking at all!,
November 17, 2009
By Vince333
from Connecticut
|
"Got these because they are lightweight and were supposed to be moisture wicking. I thought they'd be perfect in my GoreTex thinsulate socks. However, even with toe warmers my feet got cold in 35-50 degree weather. Persperation generated walking to the stand stayed in the liner against my skin. May be OK if you are indoors or constantly moving but NOT for still hunting."

Cabela's Silk Sock Liners,
October 20, 2009
By BrandonHH

"These sock liners made hiking up and down mountain ridges much more comfortable. I was getting blisters on my feet before I started using these liners, and now my feet are blister free! I also got them on sale for under $5, so picking up a pair of these liners is a no-brainer. These sock liners are a must have for any of my upland game hunting."

silk sock liners,
October 19, 2009

"These seem to work well. I have worn them for several miles now. I believe in having a silk liner under a wool sock to aid in wicking moisture away. Of the products I considered, these had the highest silk content I could find. They are sized small. I wear a size 12 and I ordered an XL after reading previous reviews. Not sure on how they will hold up. This year's grouse season will tell. I would be happy to get one full season out of them. The price is right, but I would be willing to pay more for a comparable product made in the USA."

"I really like thesesilk sock liners. They are lightweight, smooth seams for comfort, stay in place and help keep my feet warmer. The only drawback is that they are sized small. I wear a ladies size 10 so I ordered a men's size large. They are just the right size."

Silk Sock Liners - Knock Your Socks Off!,

"The best socks my feet have ever been in! It's hard for me to keep my toes warm. I've tried everything from chemical warmers to triple layers of wool. NOTHING does it like using the silk liners. Thank God for the silkworm."

Small, but worthy,
February 10, 2009
By lizbets
from clothing designer living in suburban Northern NJ

"These sock liners were great, but ridiculously small-- I bought a medium, expecting them to fit my husband, who wears a men's size 9 shoe (I'm thinking, my brother who wears a men's 10 is a large, my brother who wears a men's 12 is an XL, and my son who wears a men's 12DD is most likely not gonna fit in any of them, right?)
The sock liners were too small to even get onto my husband's foot-- WAY too small!! Too small even for me (Ladies size 9) and so I gave them to my daughter (ladies size 7.5) and lo! a perfect fit!! And they are truly a great product, just way way way too small for the size they purport to be.
So-- I recommend them, but with a caveat: these are a great pair of socks, but sized as if for women. Men, buy at least 2 sizes bigger than you think you need. And if you're a guy with big feet, you're probably out of luck."

Silk Sock Liners,

By REMARSHALL

"Cold feet in a goose blind was no fun. Saw the Silk sock liners in Cabela's catalogue, and the price was ok, so I thought that I would give them a try. Work great, feet stayed dry and warm, even when out in the cold water setting dekes, or breaking ice."

Cabela's Silk Sock Liners,
December 5, 2008
By JSeibel
from Wisconsin

"In order to keep my feet happy when I'm out of doors, I need to pay attention to the small things. Sock liners are without doubt the best way to keep your feet dry - and therefore warm - with wool socks. Combined with my wool boot socks my feet stay mighty comfortable even without the most expensive boots on the market.
A reply to another's review regarding washing these: The fact that these are made of silk does not allow them to be machine washed. Just hanging them up to dry is good enough for me.
I would and have recommended these to friends and family, given them away to hunting buddies... simply because I don't know why anyone would sacrifice foot comfort to save a couple bucks - they're more than affordable and although quite thin, last long enough too!"

Silk Sock Liners,
April 7, 2008
By Rajman
from Fairfield, CT
|
"I am a female and wear a 7.5 women's shoe. I ordered size small as recommended by Cabela's service department since the product only comes in Men's sizing. There are no laundry instructions for these sock liners. After washing in warm water and drying on a regular heat setting, they shrunk to a child's foot size and I can not wear them. If you order these sock liners, BE CAREFUL ON THE SIZE ORDERED because they can shrink substantially depending on how you wash them. If the fit was right, I would probably give this product a higher rating. I am very satisfied with Cabela's problem resolution as they issued me a full credit on this purchase."
