"I bought this to hunt in a blacked out hunting blind. When it says one size fits all it will fit all but if you have a normal sized head it will be loose. I figured it would be form fitting but it is not."

"We had really hoped we wouldn't have a need for these so early in the winter but... gave them a good test run with snow, 20º F 20' seas and winds gusting up to 50 mph on New Year's eve. Balaclava felt roomy, well finished, and light enough to push down and use as a scarf/turtleneck so you're always prepared for a gale. Polar fleece balaclavas tend to get too wet in this kind of weather."

"My daughter uses this under her horse riding helmet to keep her ears and neck warm in the outdoor arena. This works well since she can still hear her instructor. It also helps to keep her face warm."

"Sorry,but I cannot recommend this product to anyone. I"ve worn this garment twice, and it failed on the last riding trip. I've worn this garment under a helmet while snowmobiling to wick away persperation and to keep ice from forming on my moustache and nose. It did keep my head feeling warm and dry, BUT, the elasticity in the face opening went away, and left the the material that should cover my nose hanging under my chin."

"This product did not really shield as it should have, primarily because it is too light to provide any protection.
I would recommend that it be made with the heavier weight fabric since to commit to wearing this article, it has got to be pretty cold out anyway."

"The reason I got the balaclava was to wear under a motorcycle helmet during cold weather riding. Its good points are that it is thin enough to be comfortable under a helmet and it has good face coverage. The bad points are that it is not long enough to provide good neck coverage and the weave is not tight enough to prevent air flow. As it is I can't really use it, however, if it was longer I don't think the relatively loose weave would be an issue."

"This review is really only based on fit and not function as it's been too warm since I've recieved it to test how well it insulates. The opening around the eyes should be cut deeper below the eyes and narrower across the nose, making more of a figure 8 shape. As it is configured now, if you pull it down far enough to keep the bottom edge of the material from creeping up into your eyeballs then you wind up pulling it down off of your nose. Also, the front neck area should be much longer so that you can tuck the material up under your chin and still have enough material left to tuck securely under your shirt and other outter garments. The price was certainly right though but you might want to spend a little more and hopefully get a more contoured and comfortable fitting balaclava. This was the first one I've ever bought and so I didn't quite know what to look for. Now I do and I'd gladly pay twice the price for the refinements I suggested above."
