BUY THEM!!!!!,November 5, 2009
By leutenantfrom Millmont, PA
"I am a firm believer in trying something for a while before you rate it. I have had a pair for a year and a half. They have been all over the mountains of PA and CO. They have been most of what I expected. They have kept my feet dry and comfortable all day. Honestly, I have been in very wet conditions and my feet stay dry. The uppers have held up well as well as the soles. The only issue that I see is the stitching in the toes is starting to work loose and the liner on one boot is loose. This makes it a bit difficult to remove. Keep the leather treated with a high quality treatment. The price is a bit hard to swallow at first however, I believe that they are well worth the price. Other than having custom boots on my feet, these are definitly the most comfortable boot I have owned. BUY THEM!!! You wont be sorry."

Cabela's Elk Hunter boots are very comfortable!,October 13, 2009
By GlennPAfrom Pennsylvania
"These boots, made by Danner in the USA, are quite possibly the most comfortable boot I've ever worn straight out of the box.
I've not hunted hard with them yet but have used them on several short outings in the woods. After one use, they feel broken in and comfortable.
I bought them primarily because they were made in the USA, came well recommended from others, and exhibit very high quality.
Pricey, but you get what you pay for. I think they are worth it.

Great Boots!!!,October 1, 2009
By Bill2662from Westford, NY
"I've had these boots for 2 yrs now and they are the best I've ever owned. Very little break in time. I've always bought boots with lace to toe lacing systems and the Danners hold perfectly, great ankle support and I don't even feel them on my feet. I would prefer a kelterlift sole as the bobs tend to hold snow, but a light kick and it clears out no problem. The leather is very durable, I'm really tough on boots and these only have a few very light nicks in them. I've taken them through snow and streams and noo leaks what so ever. Last winter we had a few weeks below zero and with a good pair of socks my feet never got cold."

Snug,December 28, 2008
By GR73from Springfield, VT and Haynesville, ME
"I've climbed hills I didn't think I could and deer don't like it when you're sneeking up on them from places they feel only animals should only climb. I don't have an ATV so walking distances is easily done now. I broke these boots in the next day deer hunting and my feet never felt so good. Slipping and sliding isn't happening in these boots which was happening in other boots I owned so I am enjoying there use. I love the boots except for them not being just one size wider and even with them only being EE they still made my feet and hunting experience all the better. Couldn't find anything wrong with them just want them made in EEE. My review would be 5 STAR except for that one issue and I guess if I wanted wider boots I could have found them elsewhere but because the boots are made so well I had to have them. So when are they going to be made wider?"

Solid Product,December 8, 2008
By AdirondackKidfrom Upstate NY
"I bought my first pair of Elk Hunters after my 2nd knee surgery to gain ankle support while hunting the uneven ground in the Adirondack Mountains of NY. I found my knees felt better wearing the Elk Hunters. These boots are well built and sturdy. They are heavier than other boots but the benefit is less slipping where the tread meets the ground and no sloppy movement of the ankle inside the boot. I did find I needed to break them in a bit. I also was surprised to find I needed an EE (wide) size. I give them 5 stars in spite of their weight and some break-in required. I expected this in the well-built, rugged boot I was seeking and have now bought my 2nd pair."

Best boots out there!,July 2, 2008
By BRNHNTRfrom Fairfield, CA
"So far so good. No break in period which is great! I already own a pair of Elk Hunter 400 gram boots which I have worn for roughly 4 years now. Those boots still impress me. I needed a boot for colder conditions though. Didn't take much for me to decide to upgrade to the Elk Hunter 600 gram boot. I am confident that these boots will not let me down. You will not find a better boot! They are a bit costly but you get what you pair for."

Danner 10" Elk Hunter Boots,June 11, 2008
By wrldhunterfrom Colorado
"The Danner 10" Elk Hunter boots are the best I've ever owned. They are very durable and require little maintenence. The sole gives you excellent traction in any kind of terrain. The lace to toe design ensures a snug fit and excellent ankle support. The insole arch support rounds the boot out for a comfortable fit. If you spend a lot of time in rugged country these boots are for you. They are well worth the price."

Land Surveyor,February 20, 2008
By Hondaridrfrom Glenville, WV
"I'm a land surveyor in central West Virginia and have tried several types of boots. I've owned the Danner Elk Hunter for about 2 months now and have no complaints. The weather has been very wet with several inches of snow at times. It is very important to keep your feet dry and warm and these boots do that very well. No complaints from WV."

OUTSTANDING,December 3, 2007
By Texan18Afrom Texas
"Without question, these are the best hunting boots I have ever come across. Warm, durable, lightweight (for their class) and comfortable to wear. They handle a wide range of terrain with ease. I've worn them Quail and Whitetail hunting in Texas, Elk hunting in Wyoming, and everywhere in between. I have not encountered a single problem or even the slightest issue that would detract from my opinion of these boots."

Fifth pair of Danner Boots,December 2, 2007
By ArmyVeteranfrom Wyoming and Kentucky
"This is my fifth pair of Danner boots purchased from Cabelas. These are my favorites. I learned about Danner quality in the Army but these boots go beyond my expectaions. They arrived the day before deer season opened. I wore them expecting to have problems because they weren't broken in yet. To my surprise they were great with no break in and have only gotten better. I now wear them at work along with all my Danner boots. I'm on my feet, climbing ladders and crawling under houses and these boots still look and feel fantastic. I'd highly recommend any of the Danner boots I have but these are the best for all day comfort! I wish I'd bought these years ago!"
