8 inch elk hunter boots,October 20, 2009
By KSELKHUNTERfrom KANSAS
"I just got back from an elk hunting trip in Wyoming with snow, sleet and rain most of the days I was there. I can assure you these are the best boots I own. I wore my other danners for three days but opted for these for the last seven days. Great boots. I would recommend them to anyone. As with most hunting clothing, YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR."

Heel Killer,August 4, 2009
By Anonymousfrom Ukiah, CA
"I purchased a pair of these boots about two years ago and I loved them at first. Soon I noticed that when I was out hunting, going up and down hills, my heels got real sore. No matter what kind of socks I was wearing, my heel would develop a sore spot. I looked at the inside of the boot and found that I had worn a hole in both heals. I guess I could put a piece of moleskin on the inside, but I really don't want to wear them hunting anymore, because it makes for a long day."

elk hunter boot,December 23, 2008
By 325wsmfrom Louisville, KY
"Great boot! I bought hoping the lace to toe design would keep me from losing toenails from bumping the front. Works like a charm. Easy on break in, comfortable and warm. Wore them elk hunting after 3 days wear round the office and some 10 miles walking. No problems at all. Good traction, warm at least down to single digit temps. Can't complain a bit. Sizes seemed to run small for me. Normally, I'm 9.5 to 10 these took size 11 to fit with thicker wool socks. This fit for me is rock solid. Considering a pair of uninsulated version to wear in warmer times."

Exceptional Boot,December 7, 2008
By bullseyeguyfrom Syracuse, Utah
"I purchased these for a cold weather pheasant hunt. I was a little concerned because the retail store thought they had my size but when I got out there they didn't, so I had to order them online. Thus, I received them only a couple of days before my hunt. Nonetheless, I took them without much break-in time and took my old pair of boots as a back-up. I was very pleased with the performance. We hunted for three days and my feet never hurt at all. The temperatures were milder than expected but even so, my feet didn't get too hot. I really liked the lace-to-toe design as it provides great overall support. Thanks Cabelas for a great product."

best boots ever,October 23, 2008
By bghunter82from Maryville, TN
"i got my first pair of these boots in 1999, when i was doing alot of coon hunting. best boot i ever owned. they held up really well chasing hounds through the mountains of tennessee. they are VERY supportive and comfortable. i still use my first pair to this day for scouting and cutting wood but i have recently bought another pair to hunt with. i have never had a boot that lasted me nine years and are just as good as they were the day i bought them. i like the boot so well i am goin to buy me two more pair to put up just in case they quit making this one. i would HIGHLY recommend this boot to ANYONE. it doesn't matter what kind of hunting you do i am sure this boot will be the best you ever bought. i know they are expensive but have you had a boot to ever last you nine years? all i do is condition my boots twice a year. buy them you will love em....."

theeeeeeyyre great,October 18, 2008
By blacktailkillerfrom sw washington
"I have been disappointed in hunting boots for years until i tried these. It may take a day or two to break them in but once they break in they are the most comfortable supportive and durable hunting boots on the market. these boots keep my feet dry 100% of the time. which is more than i can say for anything "dry plus". Buy these boots if you do you will have great boots for many years to come. just please for goodness sake take care of the leather. dont put them next to the fire to dry out and keep them coated with a good boot dressing, they deserve it."

LADIES-EXCELLENT GIFT FOR HIM OR YOURSELF!,August 11, 2008
By Kuinifrom Pendleton, Oregon.
"I ordered the "Elk Hunter" hunting boot for his birthday and when they arrived, I thought they looked great. I live in Oregon, so when its winter here, its really winter! I tried the boots on myself, and with a great pair of boot-cut jean, the style is perfect. They are warm, comfortable and a great colour too. I will be getting a pair for myself even though I do not hunt. I love them! Thanks."

Great boots,January 7, 2008
By BBECSRVfrom Mandan, North Dakota
"I have worn these boots for about 3 months of tough pheasant hunting this season, and my former foot problem seemed to have been neutalized. They keep my feet dry in water and snow, plus they keep them fairly warm (we are hunting in North Dakota through January, that's quite an accomplishment for any boot)!"

They keep on going..and going..,December 12, 2007
By BPinILfrom Northern IL
"This boot is remarkable. I've had these 8" Elk Hunter 400g boots since 1997. I have hunted multiple times a season the last 10 years(Deer-Elk Turkey-Pheasant-Dove), and put them in nearly every possible hunting terrain and weather, and there's just no quit in these boots. They're still in great shape and look like they'll last another 10 yrs. Early on I tried to keep them moist with boot dressing, as I believe that helps keep the leather strong & resilient, but lately perhaps not as often as I should considering they are a little expensive to replace! Haha - 10 yrs and still going,, I've got my monies worth no doubt! Last few years at deer camp my friends and family all say,, "You still got them boots, wow!" When you have size 14's they kind of stand out. If you are looking for a no fail, high quality, great fitting boot, built for everything to do with hunting, look no further! The Airthotic insert also seem to help with comfort and air circulation not just a gimic in my opinion. As a credential to my insight, before I became mostly a weekend warrior, I worked in the trades and on many farms(hogs to dairy) and I wore out a good many pair of boots in my time, I won't slander any of those brands here (I got what I paid for!), but I can tell you if you study what makes a good boot, Danner, like a few others, has all the qualities for long lasting comfort! They've earned my respect & loyalty, and I gladly pay the extra $$ to get them knowing they'll last. I own 3 other types of Danner boots, LW-hikers, casual and workboots, all of which I am very happy with. The ONLY downside is the break-in period, and you have that with ANY shoe or boot, but these are built to last and a litte more rigid at first. Just wear and oil them and they'll treat you rigt!!!! Good Luck!"

Best boots ever.,November 13, 2007
By Bulldancerfrom NE Oregon
"I bought these boots and wore them Elk hunting for 4 days this Oct. I was impressed with them and they fit like a glove through 42 miles of walking over those 4 days. Need boots for the colder weather these are great. Only thing I wish is that the soles cleaned out easier then walking in mud."
