14 Years and still going strong,January 12, 2009
By alpinepikafrom Grand Junction, CO
"I bought my first pair of Danner Acadia boots when I was in the Marine Corps in 1995. I put 3 years of military service into them and have put hundreds of trail miles backpacking in them in the Colorado Rockies, Sierra Nevadas, Adirondacks and the Chugack Range in AK as well as use big game hunting. I have re-souled them 3 times, for between $35 and $40, and they keep on going. These boots were water proof for at least the first 10 years that I had them. Danner is still my brand and I have added 3 more pairs now and can't say enough good about them."

Best boots I ever owned!,January 16, 2008
By PONCEfrom Stockton, California
"I purchased these boots for work and within the first couple of days I was amazed of the comfort and quality. My work duties consist of standing all day and often short runs. I would recomend these boots to anyone who is on their feet and on the go constantly. Like I said, after the first couple of days I knew that I had made a great purchase."

Well worth the money,November 26, 2007
By KOGG
"I wear Danner boots for my job as a paramedic. I have worn these boots in wet northern California winters as well as hot summers. I have worn these boots on duty in Alaska, where the winters are unforgiving and the spring is very muddy and wet. They have never failed me yet. I have had the same pair since 2003, Resoled 1 time. Pros: 1. Cordura allows flexibility and rotation without sacrificing strength. 2. Strong vibram sole, which like all other Danner boot parts can be replaced! Making this an investment in your feet. 3. Gore-tex 4. Excellent quality leather holds up well. A little leather conditioner and some good quality polish does the trick. 5. Water Tight (been in puddles all the way up to the tops of the boots, for extended amounts of time, with no problems) Cons: 1. Insulation is a little much in hot weather 2. Interior liner starts to come out with your foot after a year or more of solid wear (a cobbler sent two stitches through and now they stay put and are still water proof!). 3. These are heavier than some duty boots out there. 4. Pricey (worth it, if one can afford them) Overall the best duty boots I have ever had, and I have been working in EMS and rescue for ten years! I have suggested these to my coworkers. I have been through many pairs of duty boots and these hold up very well, and are extremely comfortable. If you use zippers, realize that you are sacrificing the best fit for speed, as with all zippered boots. Most side zipping boots don't hold up, so its better to go with front zips."

Ironclad Boots in a Throwaway World,July 28, 2007
By tropxfrom Kalamazoo, MI
"I have owned and used one pair of Acadias for 13 years. They have been resoled twice but are otherwise original. I'm a police officer, and my boots have seen about everything you can dish out to your feet, from scorching summers to bitter-cold Michigan winters, slogging through ditches, and pounding through innumerable foot-chases. The insulation is enough to keep your feet warm down into the 20's, though they do get a bit toasty standing on asphalt in the summer sun. They are very water-resistant, though I've noticed that one of the boots does seem to have developed a small leak over time. Also, the Gore-Tex lining, while somewhat breathable, can be overwhelmed if you have very sweaty feet (as I do), so they will seem wet and clammy with extended use unless you let them air out. Had I to do over again, I'd have splurged for a set of uninsulated ones for warmer weather instead of using one pair for all seasons.
These boots are expensive, but when you consider the fact that with proper care they can last WELL over a decade they seem like a bargain. Danner offers a comprehensive boot-rebuilding program that can spiff them up almost like new, which is where mine are going for some long-overdue TLC.
One of the best pieces of advice I got as a young officer was to go out and buy myself a good set of duty boots. I don't think you can do any better than these, and I never imagined I'd have the same ones halfway through my career."

Great Boot,January 6, 2007
By drakedogfrom Northern CA
"These are the third pair of Danner Duty Boots I have purchased over the past seven years. These boots take care of your feet in any weather! The comfort and support is there in any given situation. I wear mine 12 plus hours a day and will never purchase any other boot! I recommend this boot daily to others and tell you that it is well worth the price!"

Danner Black Duty Acadia Insulated Boots,December 7, 2006
By AmySueKfrom PA
"Comfortable and well made duty boot. My husband -- who is extremely difficult to fit, having a size 14 Narrow foot -- was so pleased with the quality and comfort of these boots that he purchased a second pair in order to rotate wearing them for work. That's a pretty good testimonial!"
